The Price is Right, but is Drew Carey Wrong

Does Drew Carey Fit in at the Price is Right

Janet Cey
Bob Barker has been on television for over 50 years and has been known as the host of the Price is Right. Bob barker seemed to have a charisma that can never be replaced when he hosted the Price is Right. He was loved by all his friends and his personality seemed to glimer on stage. When Bob Barker ran the Price is Right it seemed to be the perfect game show. The 70's look of the game show when Bob Barker was the host fit the show very nicely. Every game the contestants played Bob Barker was comfortable in what he did. Recently Bob Barker has retired and now there is a new host for the show.

The new host for the show is Drew Carey. Drew Carey is a famous comedian and has worked on sitcoms and also game shows. He is known to be the host of "Whose line is it anyway", and has been in sitcoms like "The Drew Carey Show", and "Power of 10", and he is also known for movies as well. Drew Carey has proven himself as a actor and a really great comdedian. However can Drew Carey last as the host of "The Price is Right"? It is great that Drew Carey is going out of his comedic boundries and hosting a show that involves alot of interaction with everyday people.

The first few new shows of the "Price is Right" has questioned my opinion if Drew Carey is the right guy for this part. At first Drew Carey seemed very nervous and not comfortable with the role of host for "The Price is Right". However Drew can add humor to some parts of the show it seems hard for him to have a smooth ride. Drew Carey is definately different from the personality of Bob Barker. One thing can be sure is that the show has a new feel to it when your watching it on TV. The show set design has been redesigned to fit Drew Carey's personality, but will Drew's character last and will he make Bob Barker proud? I guess we will all have to just continue to watch to see what happens and if the show stays successful. Hopefully Drew will make the show successful and bring new qualities to the show with his comedic personality. However hopefully the show will still have it's realistic feel and cater to the contestants that have loved the charisma that previous host Bob Barker has shown.

How time flies! Drew Carey has been excellant on TPIR. Drew has overcome his 'nervousness' and is really great with the contestants. I loved Bob Barker - but now love Drew Carey. And Drew has sure slimmed down - it shows has Good Looks !!!

i think the price is right is 100 times better with drew carey on it. bob barker was an old stuffed shirt that should have retired years ago. everybody on t.p.i.r. seems to have loosened up a little bit.

I was pleased when Bob Barker retired,it was over due..the last couple of years it was noticible his impatience with the contestants if they took to long or screwed up,I was`nt that familiar with Cary`s work but he seems t0 be more of a people person..contestant friendly and does`nt cringe when getting a hug and he will hug back...Good luck to him and he looks great and he worked at it.

I totally agree. I have watched the price is right for many many years. Drew Carey is not the right host. I think Tom Bergeron would be excellent.

I really wonder if Bob Barker wanted his show to go strong after he left..He wanted ole Rosie O'Donnel to take his place!..Drew Carey is so much different the Bob Barker...I have yet to get used to him..he speaks so soft!..sort of shy looking..Great Article..
