The Price is Right: Will Drew Carey Succeed or Flop?

The Price is Right Begins this Fall with a New Host

Bernadette
Are you going to watch The Price is Right when Drew Carey debuts as the new host? His first appearance is scheduled for Monday, October 15, 2007. We are eagerly waiting for the new season to start and will be watching.

In our area the show is on around lunchtime, so my husband has graciously volunteered to prepare his famous sunny side up eggs with ham and home fries, along with a bagel, some fresh fruit and a cup of hot coffee for a special brunch for the two of us.

This is not the first time that The Price is Right will have a new host. Several years ago we watched the Game Show Channel and saw Bill Cullen, as the host of the original show. The original was broadcast from the late 50's to the mid 60's. Several years later, the show was back on the air with Bob Barker as the new host. Bill Cullen's fans must have missed him, but they grew to love Bob Barker.

Fans of the current show will miss Bob and at first, it will be difficult to see someone else host the show. Hopefully, Bob Barker's fans will come to love and respect Drew Carey as the new host. We wish Drew a long and successful run on The Price is Right.

We are wondering about the changes that will occur as the new season starts.

Will the show open with the cheerful announcer proclaiming that the show is coming "...from The Bob Barker studio in Hollywood, California..."?

Will the audience feel a special bond with Drew Carey, like they felt with Bob?

Will contestants ask if they can kiss or hug Drew as they join him on the stage, like they asked Bob?

Will Drew hold that wired stick microphone like Bob? Will Drew have a special cause to promote during each show, like Bob did regarding the pet population?

Will the name of the women (Barker's Beauties) that help display the prizes change?

Will different games be added and some others removed?

What will Drew wear for the show?

What will Drew say at the end of each show?

Drew seems to be a likeable and genuine man. We predict that he will succeed and not flop as the new host of The Price is Right. We wish Drew the very best.

I know Drew is nervous till he gets used to how the show works, but his nervous habit of fiddling with the pocket flap on the right side of hie suit jacket drives me nuts
