Prince of Persia is an action-adventure video game series created by Jordan Mechner. Through the various titles, the series has had a variety of different developers and publishers.
The Recently trilogy developed by Ubisoft, contains three very intrusting and intriguing titles, one of them being the Prince of Persia Warrior Within.
The Prince of Persia Warrior Within (often referred to as POP WW) is truly an awesome title and an original concept, this game capture the true essence of maneuverability, fighting techniques, the camera, and graphics.
Here is a rundown of the game, and the key point that make a game a game so yall can get the real scoop.
Playability & Camera
There are many games that you can't stand to play because the controls are so archaic, the concept is corny, or the fighting style is cheesy. Well not POPWW, the fighting style is realistic with smooth animations and tons of moves that makes every battle different from another. The acrobatic moves the prince can execute to get where he is going is certainly good stuff. These acrobatics include flipping off curtains, running along walls, swing around pillars, this guy has it all! The camera is awesome too, Ubisoft seemed to master that. There wasn't a point in my game where the camera was set in such a way that I suffered from unfair deaths. To top it off the cut scenes and the characters are totally rad, especially the prince himself; cool and calm, with a gruff'n'ruff attitude, and he isn't your average macho guy. Gives the game some diversity!
Graphics
Considering that this game was released in 2004 it has good graphics, cuts and gashes can be seen during battles between the prince and the villains. In addition, when the prince emerges from water, the water draining off him is visible. It adds a considerable amount of realism to the game.
Originality
You know those games that have clearly gotten the idea from another source usually from a book or another game? Well POPWW is an original!
This was the first game I have every played where the player has to fight against the mysteries of time, and battle an unbeatable beast while trying to save himself from utter oblivion. Plenty of secrets are scattered throughout the weird world, and you never know where you will end up next when running from the DAHAKA! This is the game for you if you like violent, challenging and slightly mysterious RPGs.
Therefore, I think this game deserves a 9.5
Congratulations Ubisoft, You have done a GREATt JOB with this one!
