Things You'll Need:
1 gal per 200 sq. ft. muriatic acid
1 gal per 200 sq ft stain (ask paint per person for the best stain for the job)
wax remover if your floor has ever been waxed
floor cleaner
paint brushes for the stain
a pan and roller with long handle
4-6 mil plastic enough to go around the wall to cover 3-4 feet high
2 rolls masking tape
Now, you are ready for step 2 and get that floor done.
Remove all belongings from area to be stained, if floor has previously been waxed then this is the time to use the wax remover to remover any left over wax from floor. Open window to help remove odor and fumes! Clean floor thoroughly!! After allowing your floor to completely dry check for remaining wax on floor, if wax remains the repeat process.
Cover wall all the way around with plastic, having floors dry and room well ventilated, with a respirator on start in far corner with ½ water and ½ acid mixture on floor careful to avoid plashing. Using a straw broom gently scrub floor once again avoid any splashing. Continue this procedure until the entire floor has been completed. Allow floor to dry, rinse with water and use wet/dry vac to suck up any excess water and allow drying up to 24-36 hours.
Stir stain thoroughly, pour a small amount into an easily handled container and start staining against the wall out to about 4-6 inches all the way around room.
Using a paint pan and the roller with long handle attached continue covering the entire floor. Try to keep strokes as even as possible and allow drying over night.
It's possible you may need to apply 2-3 coats to ensure evenness and be sure to let dry 48-72 hours.
Once thoroughly dry apply 2 coats sealer making sure each coat has dried before applying second. If completely dry remove plastic replace all furniture and belongings oh and sorry it took so long, it just does.
