The Bessemer Croatian Club is one of the biggest businesses in Bessemer, Pennsylavania. I spent a lot of time there. Recently I decided to do an investigation into it. I learned many things, but now I want to see if the club has more pros than cons. Does the good outweigh the bad? Let's look into that.

First let us look at the positive side of the restaurant. The food they make really is amazing. The chicken is my favorite. The employees, most of whom I know personally are very hard working. I have observed them on a regular day on the job. They put a lot of time and effort into making our meals. Some of them even go so far as to buy the ingredients they need themselves. They have a strong sense of dedication, family, and teamwork. I praise them for that. Other than the restaurant itself, the club also has leisure facilities. These include a bar, a place to shoot pool, a bocce arena, and a very large room for hosting activities and events. Speaking of which, the club hosts many graduation parties, wedding receptions, children's holiday parties, and more. The club also sponsors local events such as community day. However, I'm not sure if there is more good than bad here.

Like I said before, the employees are very hard working. But despite their dedication, the club sees fit to pay them less than minimum wage (which they can get away with because they are a privately owned club). The club also does not have very good working conditions. The air conditioning system is very poor, which means that the employees often have to do their work in an overly hot environment. To make that matter even worse, the club never pays to fix these conditions, choosing instead to spend their money on more pointless projects such as putting in a sidewalk where nobody likes to walk. Tensions tend to run high between the owners and the employees.

I do not believe that the club should be allowed to run the way it has chosen. The people who work there deserve better pay and working conditions. The Bessemer Croatian Club should be made to pay their employees the amount as stated by law and they should be forced to keep their building up to code. I have written this to get people's attentions on the injustices taking place in the so called popular business. It's time to do something.
