The Pros and Cons of Sending Free Online Birthday Cards

Free Online Birthday Cards: Are They a Good Idea?

Have you heard of free online birthday cards before? If you enjoy surfing the internet or enjoy communicating with your friends and family online, there is a good chance that you are already well aware of free online birthday cards. Free birthday cards, namely the ones that are sent over the internet, are nice, but are they right for you or your recipient? Before you make the decision to send a free online birthday card to someone that you know, you will want to examine the pros and cons of doing so.

One of the many reasons why online birthday cards are nice is because they are easy to find, as well as easy to give. A standard internet search can easily connect you with numerous websites that offer free online birthday cards, as well as other online greeting cards. These websites enable you to send a birthday greeting that will be delivered in as little as a few minutes. In a way, this makes sending last minute birthday wishes as easy as possible.

Another one of the many pros or plus sides to sending free online birthday cards to your friends or family members is of all your options. As previously stated, a number of websites have free birthday cards online. You will find that most greeting card websites have at least ten or more birthday cards to choose from. This means that you can easily find a free birthday card for your best friend, your mother, father, aunt, uncle, or sibling. You also have the option of personalizing your online birthday card, as you would with a traditional card.

Although there are a number of pros or plus sides to sending free online birthday cards to those that you know, there are also a number of cons or downsides to doing so. One of those is the impression that you may give off. Unfortunately, when you send a free online greeting card, the receipt will receive a link to the website in question. This means that your recipient can easily tell that your greeting card is one that you received free of charge. For that reason, you may want to use free online birthday cards with caution.

Free online birthday cards or all free online greeting cards for that matter, are ideal for those you are acquaintances with. You may, however, want to send printed birthday cards, regardless of whether they are homemade or store bought, to those that you are close with. With that in mind, there can be some fun exceptions to this etiquette rule. For instance, if you are scheduled to attend a weekend birthday party for a close friend or relative, but their birthday falls on a weekday, you may want to send a free online birthday card on their birthday. Just be sure that you arrive at their birthday party with a printed card in hand.

Of course, the decision as to whether or not you want to send free online birthday cards is your decision to make. Although there are a number of benefits to free greeting cards, it is advised that you use your best judgment. How would you feel if your mother or best friend sent you a free online greeting card as opposed to a "real," one?

Oh yeh - and the other downside to traditional cards - the cost of postage ;)

I love the e-cards & have a habit of sending them quite often. They save the environment, you usually get a receipt to see that your friend picked it up & you can send out multiples easily :) I didn't send out any Christmas cards this yr b/c it takes hours to write out & address each one of them. The only reason I may is if I have pics to send out w/them - of course now w/everything so digital, you can easily attach pics & if your friends want to have them printed they can - or they can save them onto one of those digital photo albums - those are really cute :) Great article!
