For those who think Microsoft Windows XP has been the best system ever, here is some news: as always, Microsoft has come up with something even better. Microsoft has recently created a workstation version of the Windows operating system called Windows Vista. It has been created not only for business purposes but also keeping in mind its huge base of home users. Windows Vista is known to have a scenic or panoramic view according to MS Encarta.

Talking of looks, Windows Vista had a fresh glossy appearance which is quite stylish. The menus are easier to navigate; personalization can be done to a greater level and what not.

The experience that a user has with windows vista, justifies the configuration that the OS demands.

Even though the graphical interface of Windows vista will catch your eye in the first glance, the most powerful features of Vista like reliability, security, mobility and usability are those that you will appreciate with experience.

There are many versions of Windows Vista that Microsoft has made available. There are two versions each for business and home users in addition to the ultimate one that includes every possible feature of Vista. You can buy any version that you want. At a later stage if the need is felt you can upgrade to any higher version of Vista easily. You can upgrade your versions of Windows vista, unlike the windows that came earlier.

In spite of the different versions of Windows Vista available, there is a core functionality which is same for every version. Only the special features of that version are added, without affecting the way the basic Vista works. There is a consistency between versions that would also make it easier for you to switch.

There is nothing new with upgrading the new windows vista. Windows Anytime Upgrade utility or a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc can be used to make the upgrade.

The following 4 upgrade options are available:

•Upgrade of Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate.

•Upgrade of Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate.

•Upgrade of Windows Vista Business to Windows Vista Enterprise or Windows Vista Ultimate.

•Upgrade of Windows Vista Enterprise to Windows Vista Ultimate.

Finally Windows Vista is a great system if you can afford a powerful computer to run it. You should consider to buy some memory as the minimum required to run Windows Vista is 2 gb. Moreover you should have a proper graphic card if you want to run the Aero feature.
