The Proscan 26 Inch LCD HDTV / DVD Combo 26LB30QD: A Review

For saving space in a bedroom or kitchen it is hard to beat a small sized flat panel HDTV. This is especially true when it come to the models that include an integrated DVD player. These reduce the need for extra components and they reduce unsightly wires making mounting them on the wall a breeze. Unfortunately for most budget conscious shoppers these televisions often demand a premium. This isn't the case with the Proscan 26 inch LCD HDTV / DVD combo model 26LB30QD. The Proscan model is made by RCA, so there is no need to worry because you rest assured its backed by a quality name brand. It is already a popular item thanks to its reasonable price, sales are going to spike on Black Friday when this television appears in Circuit City's sales circular. I am going to let you know how mine has performed for me so that you can decide if this deal is worth braving the crowds for.

Product Overview:

This model has an attractive look, although it doesn't stand out. It is framed by the typical glossy black plastic which is interrupted on the base by the Proscan insignia. It also includes a squat matching glossy black stand which is quite sturdy. To really take advantage of this high definition television I would recommend hanging it. The remote included is not over complicated and is intuitive for both the television as was as DVD controls.

The high definition picture is displayed at 720p and looks great. The DVD picture is also quite good as well as the standard definition picture. My only complaint is that sometimes it can take a while to go from channel to channel on this set which can get a little frustrating if you're a channel surfer like I am.

There are two HDMI inputs available which is great at this price point. These are high definition inputs that you can use to connect this television to something like a Playstation 3, or Blu-ray disk player. Also included is a VGA input which can be used to connect your computer. I found it easy to connect my laptop and had none sync problems often associated with the more inexpensive displays.

The Proscan LCD HDTV / DVD combo model 26LB30QD is already a bargain at its normal retail price at $500. It will be a bargain you shouldn't pass up on the day after Thanksgiving when Circuit City starts giving this set away for less than $400. It is perfect for the Kitchen, nursery, or even in the car (with a proper DC/AC adapter).
