Working Everyday Joe

Luke Wilson
The transformation from an everyday working father and husband to a stay at home man can be difficult. Who would have guessed? I'm forty one years old, been married for ten years, with a ten year old son, and here I am starting over again.

Mind you I know times are tough for everyone out there so I won't sing the blues to much, but at my age this isn't where I expected to be at this point in my life. I'm a land surveyor by trade and I've got to admit I never saw the lay offs coming.

We knew things were slowing down but they always did at a certain time of year so that companies could tidy up their books before the end of the years, so the slow down was nothing new.

I guess we should have seen it coming though. I mean how many times can they send you to the same piece of land to get surveyed. Sure I'm frustrated but who can you blame? The companies just doing what they have to do to survive, can't blame them for that. A lot of my co workers what to blame George Bush for the economy tanking, As much as I would like to agree with them frankly I can't.

These problems our bigger then any one man, I agree that his policies only made things worst but this problem with the housing and mortgage loans was coming down the pike a long time before he took office. They all had a hand in this, all the so-called leaders in Washington had a hand in this, and where the ones paying for it.

They've taken my ability to provide for my family the way I would like to. We're doing okay just not as good as I would like. Better days are just around the corner I believe that I have to believe it because I've never seen it this bad before.

All we want my friends and I, and I'm sure many everyday Americans is to be able to keep a roof over our families head, food on the table, cloths on our kids back, to be able to keep our self respect. In a country that can afford to bail out banks on Wall Street it shouldn't be to hard to help out every day people.

In my opinion they should have cut a check to hard working Americans who were forced to bail out banks with CEO's who are steal walking away with millions of dollars in buy outs.
