The PS3 Will Be the Only 3DTV Accessory You'll Need After 2010
How the PlayStation 3 is Set to Take Care of All Your 3DTV Needs
If you're planning on buying a 3DTV, be prepared to fork over lots of cash, because a 3DTV alone won't let you watch "zilch" in 3D. In order to see 3D content on your 3DTV, you'll either need a 3D compatible Blu-ray player or a 3D cable service - which I doubt exist yet - but if you're looking to cut cost and get great 3DTV content, the Sony PlayStation 3 gaming console will be your best bet.
The PS3 is going to take 3DTV and 3D technology head-on during 2010 - and ongoing - and will offer the best bargain for anyone that is recovering from a hurt and stretch out wallet after purchasing an expensive 3DTV - free 3D services.
Sony recently announced that they'd be offering a free firmware update that'll make all PS3 internal Blu-ray players 3D compatible in October 2010 and this update will save lots of 3DTV owners a large wad of cash because 3D compatible Blu-ray players cost around the same price of a brand new PS3. In addition to bringing 3D Blu-ray support to the PS3, Sony has already added 3D gaming and plans to support 3D photos and bring a 3DTV broadcasting service via PlayTV on their PSN network.
With a working 3D gaming engine, full 3DTV support, 3D Blu-ray compatibility, and the ability to support wacky 3D photos, the PlayStation 3 will be the best thing going for 3DTV owners after 2010 - and if you add in the extra money saved from not having to buy all of these services in separate gadgets, the PS3 is a huge bargain. After 2010, there will be no need to buy a 3D compatible Blu-ray Player, 3DTV cable, service and 3D photo viewer; all you'll need is a PlayStation 3 gaming console.
