The Psychic in You - Use Your God Given Abilities

The psychic in you is waiting to come out. It's been lingering beneath the surface for years. Beneath the teachings of a mainstream society which tells you that psychics aren't for real, or that only special people have psychic abilities. Before I get into the discussion that all of us are psychic, I will define a few psychic terms for you to understand.

Psychics

Psychics come in varying degrees of abilities, but you can find psychics who use tarot cards, runes, tea leaves, flames (yes flames) and other tools. Most psychics use their intuition and/or help from Angels and Spirit Guides to gain insight on another person's life, so that they may help them as needed. Tools such as tarot cards are just that. Tools. My belief is that the tool helps the psychic to focus in easier on their higher self or spirit who is helping them during the reading. The psychic may tell you things about yourself that you already know, and things that haven't happened yet. Remember, there is free will and the psychic can only tell you predicted outcomes. Not everything they tell you is 100% accurate, because of your free will and the choices you may or may not choose regarding your life.

Psychic Mediums

Psychics and psychic mediums differ with respect to what they do and how they do it. All psychic mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are psychic mediums. Psychic mediums connect with those on the other side, whether they are Angels, guides, or loved ones who have crossed over. Although some psychics can communicate with spirits, not all of them do. Mediums can connect with spirits by way of hearing them, seeing them, sensing them, feeling them, and knowing. The last one, knowing, is the ability that I myself use the most. I am new to actually 'using' my abilities to help others who are dealing with the loss of a loved-one or friend who has passed over. Up until now, I pushed my gifts away because of fear. More on that later in the article.

Understanding How

Most people who have a belief in psychics also have a belief in a higher power, whether it's God, the Great Spirit, Creator, etc...Many people also believe that psychics have special gifts that aren't given to everyone. This is where I disagree. If you believe in a God, do you really think that he would dole out special gifts only to those who are deserving of them? Yes, some people are awesome with musical instruments, some are fabulous singers or athletes, but that doesn't mean that they are the only ones singled out for this gift. Each and every person on this earth was born with the same abilities, but some of those people may have been brought up in households that nurtured the gift instead of hindering it along the way. The surroundings of the person growing up plays a large part in how the person's gifts will grow as the years go by. I myself was raised in a Catholic family with nobody speaking about psychics or psychic abilities. Even though this was the case, as I look back I realize that I was always a very sensitive child, very aware of my surroundings, always daydreaming, and even had nights where I would astral travel as I slept. I wouldn't realize until much later on in years that I had psychic abilities. This is where things can get confusing.

Understanding How to Accept

Once you understand that everyone is born with psychic ability, next comes the searching. Searching for answers to your questions (which will be many) about the whys, hows and other questions that will come up as your search continues. Your spiritual path will change along the way as you search for answers. Some of you might change religions or stop being religious and start being just a spiritual person with no formal religious practice. You will search online about psychics, read many books, even buy tarot cards to help you to accelerate your gift. Searching is a good thing, and will lead you where you need to be. Along the way you will have doubt, and a lot of it. I still doubt every time names, dates and other information just 'comes to me' as I am speaking online in a chat room with someone and don't know the first thing about them, or their family. This is where acceptance comes in. When you accept that you are actually using your psychic ability and you start using it, it will lessen the doubt. Not to say you won't have any doubt, but it will lessen it in the beginning.

When I decided that I would stop pushing my gifts aside, I told my spirit guides and God that I was ready to accept the abilities given to me. Once I did that, the gates opened up and I began to have those experiences of just knowing things. I receive information by way of thoughts. I don't hear voices that tell me anything, (although I have in the past), I hear the information in thought form, in my own voice. But it's not coming from me and I am very aware that it isn't. I am still in awe when the words and emotions that come to me actually make sense for someone else. And my heart overflows when they tell me how much I have helped them with their grief, or problem in their life. Do I still have doubts? Yes. But not of the process. The doubt lays within myself of my own ability to use my God-given gift.
