With Nicole Back in the Fold Can the PCD's Take Over the World?

The Reviewer
The Pussycat Dolls took the music scene by storm in 2005. Their debut album PCD did extremely well and made the group a household name. After their success as a group, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger tried to go solo; however her album Her Name Is Nicole was shelved after lackluster interest. Now back in the fold, The Pussycat Dolls are stronger than ever on their sophomore album Doll Domination. Can The Pussycat Dolls conquer the world?

The first single off of Doll Domination is the Rodney Jerkins produced When I Grown Up. The song is a solid reintroduction of the group into the marketplace. The song has done extremely well and is extremely catchy.

The second single is the Danja produced Whatcha Think About That featuring Missy Elliot. The song is has a completely different vibe and feeling compared to the rest of the album. The track features a unique arrangement and instrumentation.

Out Of This Club features R. Kelly and Polow Da Don. The song sounds like a remake of Usher's Love In This Club which was also produced by Polow Da Don. The high point of the track is definitely Polow Da Don's verse.

Snoop Dogg teams back with The Pussycat Dolls on Bottle Pop. The song is features an extremely minimalist and unique beat. The song however does not stand out.

Who's Gonna Love You is an up-tempo track produced by Mad Scientist. The song is catchy and very well produced. The song was originally featured on Nicole Scherzinger's shelved debut album Her Name Is Nicole. The song is similar to the original with slight changes and a vastly different bridge.

Happily Never After is a beautiful ballad which was also featured on Her Name Is Nicole. The song is extremely catchy and easy on the ears.

I Hate This Part is one of the stronger tracks on the album. The mid-tempo song is extremely catchy and well written.

Love The Way You Love Me has definite single appeal. It is the type of track that you expect from the group.

The album closes with I'm Done. The song is the big ballad that this album needed. The song showcases Nicole's improving vocal ability.

If you are a true fan of The Pussycat Dolls the deluxe version of Doll Domination features five new songs which feature each of the members of the group singing lead vocals. The highlight of the deluxe version is Melody Thornton's Space.

Overall Doll Domination is a fairly solid album with a number of solid songs. Overall Doll Domination gets 7.5 out of 10. If you are a fan of The Pussycat Dolls make sure you pick up Doll Domination when it is available in stores on September 23rd.
