The Race is On

Join Your Fellow Authors in the Page View Races

Tony Payne
Would you like to combine your writing of articles on Associated Content with a little competition?

We are just coming to the end of the current Page View Races, and the new racing season begins on 1st April.

The Page View Races is a competition organized by Han Van Meegerin, where authors compete both in teams as well as individually to see who can get the most Page Views.

Several times a week, Han posts the race status tables, for both teams and individuals, as well as a commentary on how everyone is doing.

I only joined Associated Content in the middle of January, and was welcomed into a racing team at the beginning of February, so I had rather a handicap in starting, not to mention that I had not acquired a huge number of fans by that time either.

However, in joining the races you have to set yourself goals, if you want to advance up the rankings, and also if you want to help your team advance as well.

The first thing to do is to get to know your team, and of course you want to Follow your team mates to help them with their page views.

I was assigned to a team called Die By The Pen, which consists of Patricia Sicilia, John Myers, Linda Louise Johnson, Khalia Bentson, Shelly Barclay and Dan Reveal. I have to admit that having followed each of them and read their articles, it's been great fun, and I have learned a lot.

The key to success on Associated Content, like anywhere else is earnings and exposure. On Associated Content, earnings are related to Page Views, and you get these in two ways, firstly by befriending other writers on Associated Content, and secondly by getting the word out about your articles outside of Associated Content.

The Page View Races help to give you the incentive to make your team perform well, in addition to making you want to compete with rival authors who have similar levels of page views to your own. Who will improve most in the three months that each race covers?

The other good thing that the Page View Races does is to highlight other authors who are competing, and who may have significantly more page views than you do. By following a Level 8, 9 or 10 author, you get to see what makes them tick. How many articles should you write? What type, what subject matter? You learn so much by doing this, it really does help to make your experience here on Associated Content far more worthwhile, and with a goal in mind too.

Did I mention making friends? I follow a lot of other fellow authors, and a lot are also now following me in return. As well as the frequent comments that I leave and receive, there are direct messages being sent, and lots of friendships being made with people from around the world, and from different lifestyles and backgrounds. This is by far the most satisfying part of being a part of Associated Content, and the Page View Races help to boost this and to link you together with team mates.

The next series of races are due to begin on April 1st, and anyone can join. If you are interested, just send a message to Han Van Meegerin and let him know that you are interested. I hope to see you there.

Happy Racing :)

FOR THOSE WHO THINK THAT THEY ARE NOT WORTHY

In January, my average Page Views per day were only 63. In February they rose to 112 per day. This month they have risen to 390 per day, but this is still not so much in the scheme of things.

Even if you only have 100 or less page views a day, the Page View Races are a great incentive to help get the word out about your articles, and to meet new friends. I think it's well worth going for, and I hope to see you there on April 1st.

I can do my best, if the teams pretty much stay the same.

Hey, great job Tony! Since I have to rotate out this group since I'm over 200,000 PVs, (wah wah, boo hoo, sniff sniff) you can take over Die's PR!
