The Race of Life

Jean Davis

When we get up to a hot day in July or August it's hard to imagine January and snow on the ground.

Summer is passing by quickly and before we know it there will be Autumn leaves falling and swirling all around.

When I was younger it seemed as if time passed at a much slower pace.

Now, as I get older the seasons come and go as if they are running in a race.

If we are not careful we can get caught up in the race and there is no finish line in sight.

We try to crowd so much into a day we often run it over into the night.

We are frantically trying to prove how much we can accomplish in this short time on earth.

Well, who do you think is keeping a record?

Who has known you since even before your birth?

He is not interested in how much you have accomplished, although He does keep a record of your life.

His interest is only in what you have done for Him and how much faith you had in Him through trouble and strife.

Perhaps this is a time in your life when you need to look back and remember how your worries and anxieties would have to go when you committed them over to God.

He was just waiting for that moment for you to trust Him and let them go.

You can just imagine Him smiling and replying with a nod,

" What took you so long ,child?

Have I not always come through for you?

You seem to forget that I am your Heavenly Father and there is nothing I cannot do.

You need not be concerned about accomplishing great things while you are here.

Just remember Who is sponsoring you in this race.

Run with patience, endure to the end and cross the finish line where you will meet Jesus face to face."

This was so pretty and inspiring Jean. Thanks for your thoughts. You are right on track as we do seem to try and do too much not remembering who we are doing it for. God bless you dear friend.Millie Ronemus
