The Ramada in the Music Road Area in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee: Best Hotel on a Budget

Amy Stepp
I am a huge fan of visiting the mountains during the fall season. The place that I love to vacation at during this time of the year is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The home of the Smokey Mountains always makes me feel like I have stepped back into the old mountain life. Each year my family tries to head up north to Pigeon Forge, TN to catch a glimpse of the leaves changing and the smell of bacon cooking through wood burning stoves as you are traveling up the curvy mountain roads. It is a feeling that only can be expressed best by actually doing it. For years past we have played, "what hotel would be best" and we have seen some nice ones in this area and also some down right dirty ones, however a year ago we finally found the hotel that meet and exceeded all of our needs!

Ramada on Music Road is one of the nicer hotels on the main strip in Pigeon Forge, TN. Located directly off the Parkway it sits in a quite spot of Pigeon Forge. As you pull up to the white hotel, it reminds you of an old barn house located on a country road. It has a rocking chair front porch and 4 gazebo like porches on either side of the driveway with rocking chairs on them as well. I enjoyed this the most because my family and I sat on the porches and looked directly across from us and saw all the Smokey Mountain tops with the leaves changing and enjoyed the comfort of feeling the crisp breeze. The hotel also has a great exterior presence with the columns decorated in Harvest attire with hay stalks wrapping the columns, barrels of hay lay on the ground with pumpkins all around. It just felt like going to my grandma's home for a weekend visit.

As you walked into the main lobby, their was a fireplace sitting area with a TV for relaxing. It mimicked a living room, however it had a country feel about it that just made you want to crawl up on the couch with a book and listen to the wood crackling. On the opposite side of the living room area in the main lobby was their breakfast section that serves executive Continental breakfast. It was a great way to start the morning in Pigeon Forge. My family chowed down on the best biscuits, sausage and country gravy I have ever tasted! The breakfast they serve also includes fruit, bagels, donuts, muffins, cereal, and yogurt.

The rooms are very spacious however at the same time it just felt like home. We had 3 adults and one child in our room and we never felt cramped. The beds were so comfortable that when you fell into them at night you got the feeling that someone was just wrapping their arms around you. Each room, well the ones that I saw, were all decorated in the country theme.

Of course with a kid we had to check out the pool. An indoor pool with windows all around that allowed you to look out towards the Smokey Mountains as you took your swim. After you had your cool down in the pool, you could soak in the whirlpool for a little while and then jump into the sauna room to soothe those achy muscles!

I could go on and on about the amenities this hotel has like in-room coffeemakers, microwave, refrigerator, ironing board, hair dryer, however, I am just going to give you the sites name so you can check it out for yourself! Head on over to www.pigeonforgeramada.com and make sure you click on the packages link they have so you can get your room and tickets for events around that area all in one low price.

When we went, like I said it was during the fall time, and in the mountains, especially the Smokey Mountains, home of Dollywood, this is when their prices start to climb up the ladder, however my family is always on a budget so we always try to find a cheaper place then normal. When we saw this hotel, we thought to ourselves that this was going to be out of our price range, however it wasn't. For three nights, 3 adults and one child our total was only around $300. For this area and during this time, that was a great price! Each month prices change, so if you plan on going during the fall, you may pay around what we did. If you are going in the Winter, you are really going to see a price hike, but that is anywhere in the mountain area. The best time to save on this hotel is during the Spring season when prices fall dramatically. However, don't think that there isn't anything going on during the Spring. They have so many Spring festivals and the shows their will certainly be worth the trip! I searched for a one night stay at this hotel on a weeknight, for two adults during the Fall season and you can get a one king bed suite with jacuzzi, fireplace, sofa, recliner, microwave and mini-fridge for a total of $128.00. So, why not plan a nice little get-a-way as soon as possible!
