The Razr: Good Phone or Not?

Does it Compare to Other Media Phones?

Jerry
The Moto Razr has become one of the biggest selling phones on the market since its release a few years ago. There are a few reasons why the phone has become so large.

For one, the Razr was about the world's first slim flip phone. The phone started for around 400.00, in its most basic form, and people still paid for it! The phone sold so well due to its awesome portability and slick look.

So why now, years later and several new slim phones later, is the Razr still one of the best selling phones on the market?

Price
The phone's price has gone down exponentially since its release. At first, you couldn't even get the phone with a 2 year subscriber contract. Now, you can get the phone FREE in most locations with a 2 year contract to your phone company. This is amazing, because it used to be one of the most expensive phones, and now you can get it for free when you first sign up for a new cell phone company.

People want cheap, nice-looking phones when they sign up for a new service. They're not concerned about the features or phone performance, they're more interested in having the coolest looking phone, for the cheapest possible price. The Razr does exactly this, and that's why people become happy with it.

Features
The phone has about all of the same features as all of the other new media phones, however the features on this phone tend to move a little slower. The media played lags, text messaging sometimes causes the phone to freeze, etc.

The V3m, mainly sold by Sprint, lags quite a bit. I have this phone, and slow software has become completely normal to me.
This is fine, but I would like to have a faster phone, however I could never get a fast, nice-looking phone with all of the awesome features for the price I got this phone for.

Availability
Of course more people are going to buy the phone if it's available in more locations. Just about every phone company offers this phone for a very cheap price. More people are going to buy this because it's offered just about everywhere, has the same features as most other media phones, and is very sleek and unique looking in comparison to most other cell phones out on the market today.

So of course the phone has its problems, but it definitely has its heights. The battery life is low, but this can easily be upgraded through buying cheap, extended batteries on ebay and other 3rd party companies. The features are about the same as most really expensive phones, the price is much cheaper, and the availability is huge.
