The Real Causes of Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a disease that can be very hard on the body. It is often mistaken for an illness that happens in the winter due to harsh weather. That isn't exactly the truth. Pneumonia has other causes that you may not have associated it with at all. It is important to know the real causes of pneumonia so that you can avoid getting it in the future.

Real Causes of Pneumonia:

Food Bourne- Pneumonia can be caused by foods that you eat. If the food you eat contains the germs and bacteria that can cause pneumonia. That means that the illness can be contagious and you have to be very careful about being around anything that could be contaminated with the germs that cause pneumonia.

Breathing- Breathing in the bacteria that can cause pneumonia is one of the main causes of getting pneumonia. You have to be careful of what is around you. For instance, you can get pneumonia from chemicals such as bleach if it is strong enough. Be careful what you are using and what chemicals you are working with. There are many forms of bacteria that can be breathed in to cause pneumonia and this illness is very hard on the body.

Bacteria- Another cause of pneumonia is bacteria living in your nose, throat or mouth which work their way into your lungs. This bacteria can easily work it's way down into your lungs causing you to get pneumonia which is why you have to be careful about washing your hands and keeping them away from your nose and mouth. It isn't just the common cold you have to worry about. Pneumonia is much more serious.

Pneumonia is a disease that gets in your lungs and causes severe pain to your chest. You can be hospitalized and it is most serious in cases of very young children and the elderly. It can be very dangerous if not cared for properly. Knowing what causes it can help you prevent it in yourself and the rest of your family. Look for the signs and symptoms in case it sneaks though somehow. Make sure that you wash your hands and keep your hands away from your mouth and nose. In other words, don't wipe your nose or mouth with the back or front of your hands. Be especially careful to wash your hands before you eat and after you use the bathroom. This will lessen your chances of pneumonia even more.
