The Real Deal About Cheats for the Mobsters MySpace Game

No Bull Here

Mobsters cheats are a popular topic right now, and unfortunately, a few articles on Associated Content are trying to lure players in by boasting known cheat codes for this MySpace application game. The truth is that there are no known cheats at the moment. However, there were three only a couple of weeks ago. Knowing these old tricks and the reason behind them might help you learn how to discover more in the future.

Many MMORPGs (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing games) are known to have cheats, Easter eggs, or special playing locations that come up every so often. The reason they aren't permanently up usually has to do with in-game money and how it is being spent. If only a handful of players are ultra-rich, and money isn't spread around properly (through attacks and whatnot), game developers will open up cheats or special areas for a pre-determined amount of time to make the game play a little more fair for everyone.

Some people think the Mobsters cheats were essentially an accident, but as a long-time MMORPG player, I find this hard to believe. Usually the developers of these games are a tight-knit group. A coder would have to add this option to the game in order for cheats to work.

It is possible for hackers to get in as well, but it is unknown if the cheats were developed by a hacker or not. This is a very real possibility in my opinion, because one of the cheat codes contained a naughty word, that probably shouldn't be used the children who play this game.

On the main page of Mobsters, beneath the news section, there is a bunch of black space. If you scroll all the way down, below the bottom of the black space you will see MySpace links. If you clicked in the black space right above the "A" in advertise, a text box would have emerged. In it, you could have entered the fallowing cheat codes:

imrichbitch - would reward you with $5,000.

mafiaowner would provide you with 10 mob members (not real members - just "hired guns" that don't count towards your family's total).

help - would give you 10 godfather points to use as you like in his menu.

I have clicked all around that black space, and the cheat box is no longer available. Some players have said that the developers "caught" the cheat and disabled it after a server update. This doesn't mean it won't come back in the future as a way to liven up the game for those who are struggling.

If you would like to add new family members, please feel free to add your link to the comment section below. Just make sure you are allowing messages from MySpace applications, otherwise no one will be able to add you. To fix this, go to the My Account section and select Applications. There you can change your notification preferences.
