"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" Are Housewives Divided

Kim Shows Her True Colors, Nene's Out of the Picture and Kandi Brings Down the House

Tonight's episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was action packed, with nary a dull moment. Well, except for Ed and Lisa, but can't win 'em all.

Kimberlocks meets with two party planners to nail down the details of her joint birthday party with Kandi, since she and Kandi share "lots of the same friends in the music industry." What? Anyway, the ground rules for the party include no cheese and crackers, no bad wine and...no Nene. After last week's blow-up over "Tardy for the Party," Kim nixes Nene from the festivities. I had to laugh when Kim said she didn't "play like Sheree," because Nene's name wasn't going on the list, period. Kim also decides it's the perfect venue to debut "Tardy for the Party."

Besties Nene and Lisa convene at Nene's house to download on the confrontation with Kim over the song. Clearly, there is no love lost between Nene and Kandi, especially since Nene thinks Kandi is always looking at her cross-eyed. However, for all of the hot air Nene was blowing about Kim cutting her from "Tardy for the Party," she was hurt by Kim's rejection. Having said that, I think the only hatchet those two will ever bury will be in each other's back.

Big-balled Dwight sits down with Sheree to plan her She by Sheree fashion show. When you get two divas in the room such as Dwight and Sheree, there will be friction and they did not disappoint. Sheree shot down everything Dwight suggested and vice versa. Dwight once again dogged Lisa's recent Closet Freak Fashion show and essentially told Sheree she had to bring it. I raised an eyebrow when Sheree said her show was going to be classy, yet she was sending out an Evite. As a regular user of Evite, it is great for casual get-togethers, but for a "high-class" fashion show? Sorry, Sheree, but do you know how to spell tacky? Just wondering.

Kim was back in the studio with Kandi and crew to complete "Tardy for the Party." Watching the scene, I was reminded of the Mariah Carey bomb, "Glitter," which also starred "Top Chef" co-host, Padma Lakshmi. Her character sounded like a cat being tortured, but through the magic of the studio (and vocals provided by Mariah) she miraculously sounded like an angel. While Kim didn't have Mariah Carey's singing voice behind her, she had a producer who could "get her in key." Kim finishes the song and she and Kandi rehash the skirmish with Nene. Kandi regrets that she lost control and Kim brushes the whole incident off due to Nene being Nene.

Tania shows up yet again to accompany Sheree to New York so Sheree can check up on her She by Sheree samples. Sheree is unhappy with the samples, but her seamstress puts her at ease by saying everything will be fixed and ready to go soon.

Kim and Kandi have their joint birthday party and Kim shows up busting out of her teeny red mini-dress and some feather-boa stilettos. Sheree is the only Housewife in attendance as Nene wasn't invited and Lisa declared she wasn't down with Kandi partnering up with Kim for the party. The big news of the night came when Kim flashed an engagement ring the size of a doorknob, courtesy of Big Papa. Most people seemed underwhelmed by the news and to Sheree's point, he is still married. Kim debuts "Tardy for the Party," and everyone loves it. Original songwriter, Ed (not Lisa's husband), even made an appearance. I hope he got some money out of this deal since he penned the original tune.

Finally, Kandi, who is in the hunt for a record deal, puts on a performance at a local club to throw out some new songs. Lisa and Ed came, Sheree sent her regrets and Kim, who pledged to Kandi she wouldn't miss it, is a no-show. It seems Kandi might be getting a glimpse of what everyone warned her about when it comes to Kimberlocks. Kandi rocked the house (her mom was so cute as she danced along), but was disappointed by Kim's absence.

Next week, Dwight dons a leotard and high heels for Nene's fundraiser, Lisa might be knocked up and Kandi continues her quest for a record deal.
