The Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion, Part I (Season 3)

The first of a two-part reunion of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was a laugh-a-minute rewind of all the lip-flapping, wig-flipping fun that was Season 3. Hosted by the loveable Andy Cohen at the Georgia Aquarium, this reunion's set background was a wall of live marine life. All of the reunion sets are fabulously decorated, with plenty of open space for waving hands and flying accusations. Andy was right in the middle of the "shark tank," as he put it, sitting between Phaedra, Kandi and Kim on one side and NeNe, Cynthia and Sheree on the other.

They got right into the topic of bodies and plastic surgery. First up, a NeNe flashback to the plastic surgeon's office where she's showing the doc her "pooch" on her stomach, telling Andy, "I could work it out, but I didn't feel like it." That is one of the main reasons why I like the Atlanta Housewives so much, they just have a way of expressing themselves that not only makes you laugh, but it's usually spot-on and straight to the point. You get the definite feeling that you are hearing exactly what they're feeling at all times; there's not a lot of phony emotions or minced words in Atlanta. We also got to rewind to Kim sitting under the "fat burning machine" while eating pizza, and an exercise walk with Phaedra and Sheree discussing their "donkey booties."

Then, Andy quickly moved to the topic to Kim's romantic past from Big Poppa to her brief lesbian encounter with Tracy the DJ ("I slept with a woman 'Quiver' - call it a day and keep it moving.") to her current amore and father of the newest addition to the family, Kroy Biermann of the Atlanta Falcons, who she met at Sheree's dancing debut, ("Do I think he'll call me? Duh! Would you call me?). When they flashed back to the Season 2 archives, they pulled up a clip of Kim visiting Rose, her favorite psychic, who predicted that Kim would have another baby soon, and it would be a boy. Kim said she and Kroy are keeping the sex of the baby to themselves for now, but my bet is with Rose on this one.

When Andy moved on to Cynthia (the "Runaway Bride") he told her how stunning she looked in her wedding dress, but then brought up the doubt that everyone, including Cynthia herself, was having about her wedded future with Peter. When Uptown, Peter and Cynthia's supper club, went downhill, it caused a financial strain on the couple. Still the wedding took place and Peter is still very much in the picture, for now. He's currently working on opening a small lounge that Cynthia says financially is "on him."

Phaedra became the next in Andy's lineup, referring to her as Scarlet O'Hara, the quintessential southern belle. This flashback was one of my favorites - Phaedra and Dwight are getting into a limo with Cynthia and Peter - Cynthia recalls the scene by saying, "In those matching pink hats, Phaedra looked like a black Tammy Faye and Dwight looked like Willy Wonka." Not only are these girls funny, but they're funny because they just tell it like it is. You have to appreciate their style.

The ensuing topics ran from Phaedra's "boujetto" eye makeup at her baby shower to Kim's treatment of her friend and assistant, Sweetie, which subject just happens to be the latest reason why Kim and NeNe, the on-again, off-again best friends, aren't speaking.
