The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Are Caroline Manzo and Teresa Guidice Embarassed by Their Actions?

Sandra Parker
I often wonder whether or not any of the Real Housewives ever watch themselves on TV. I mean, do they actually see themselves in the same light that we do week after week?

Apparently Caroline Manzo and Teresa Guidice do.

As I wrote last week (and the week before) tonight's Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion show (part one) is going to be a doozy. There's some name calling, some screaming, some shoving, and a whole lotta shakin' goin' on. Caroline and Teresa seem to have the most to say in terms of Danielle and her negative influence on their lives and the show and ultimately are the two that get the most out of control. At one point, Teresa Guidice actually gets physical with Andy Cohen as he tries to restrain her.

"I didn't believe my eyes," says Teresa after viewing the reunion show. "I didn't mean to shove Andy. I love Andy." But she goes on to say that when she gets attacked, the only thing she knows how to do is attack back, no matter who is standing in her way. Of course, she did say that she knows how to control herself which, although I find it hard to believe after watching clips of the reunion show and season one's finale where she flipped a table over, I do have to believe since she didn't actually kill Danielle during the North Jersey Country Club incident, that maybe she can. She just didn't like being restrained.

Caroline's response was actually a little more shocking to me that Teresa's though. While I thoroughly expected Teresa to defend her actions, which she did, Caroline was mortified (which she should have been) and a little proud (which I found somewhat disturbing). "There are no words," Caroline was quoted as saying about the reunion show. "Just no words. I could not compose a rational thought in my head for two days

I guess, to be fair, we haven't seen the show yet and I'm not really sure if Caroline has anything to apologize for. I mean, angry words are just that...angry words. And if anyone deserved an earful of Caroline's angry words, it's Danielle. But, if she issued any threats or touched Danielle in any fashion, I will have to say that I will have lost some respect for Caroline Manzo. I have always looked up to her and respected the way she's handled herself throughout this show's two turbulent seasons and I hope she will continue to be that person. And maybe both of these ladies can take away a lesson or two from watching this show. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Danielle won' be back.
