"The Real Housewives of Miami" Won't Be a Drag Thanks to Drag Queen Elaine Lancaster

Get ready for "The Real Housewives of Miami", the first "Real Housewives" series to feature a drag queen. Unfortunately, Kelsey Grammer won't be the dude trying to look like a lady; that distinction goes to diva-licious Drag Queen Elaine Lancaster, a close, personal friend of Dennis Rodman (I'm sure the two trade plenty of fashion tips).

Taking a page from "Jersey Shore", the Real Housewives franchise is headed to Miami in an effort to showcase more sex and superficiality. But don't write off Elaine Lancaster as a housewife wannabe; she look s just as good as most of the women (and better than many) who have become Real Housewives stars (you can see a photo of her here).

But of course the show's first drag queen is going to have a lot of estrogen to contend with in her fellow cast members. "The Real Housewives of Miami" is going to have its own "Basketball Wives" in Scottie Pippen's wife Larsa Pippen, and Miami Heat/Lakers star Glen Rice's ex Christy is also rumored to be joining the cast. Other rumored members of the cast include magazine editor Alexia Echeverria, charity planner Lea Black, PR specialist Marysol Patton, and socialite Adriana Sidi. But it's already looking like Elaine Lancaster is going to steal the show with his/her dual roles.

According to PopEater, Elaine Lancaster won't be appearing as a drag queen all the time; James Davis, the mastermind behind the diva, will also star on the show. And of course you'll be dying to know more about Elaine Lancaster and James Davis after you catch them on "The Real Housewives of Miami".

According to South Beach Magazine, James Davis moved from Dallas to South Beach because the male model wanted to be close to the Versace family, who he had met while working in Milan. Unfortunately, his first day in South Beach was the day that Versace was murdered.

Afterward, James Davis started working on perfecting Elaine Lancaster, a character he had created in Dallas before his move to South Beach. He got a job at a gay club called Warsaw hosting a weekly amateur strip contest before moving on to a bigger, better job at the Fat Black Pussycat at Liquid. Elaine Lancaster would later become a South Beach celebrity working at the Level nightclub as a resident house diva, a job that would lead her to meeting celebrities like Dennis Rodman and Elton John (Elaine Lancaster was also rumored to be in a relationship with Colin Farrell).

James Davis describes the character of Elaine Lancaster as the illegitimate daughter of Burt Lancaster and Lana Turner, but her name is derived from two characters in the Jackie Collins novel "Hollywood Wives". He believes that he's the best drag queen in South Beach, describing drag as a very competitive sport (interestingly enough, he has two brothers that are also very competitive with careers as pro football players). He also believes that his being gay isn't connected at all to his desire to be a drag queen.

So will Elaine Lancaster steal the show on "The Real Housewives of Miami"? She's already looking like the most fabulous real housewife star that the franchise has seen (she's a housewife BFF on the show, not an actual housewife), so hopefully Bravo will get the new series on air soon.
