"The Real Housewives of Orange County" Won't Back Down

Teens, Tupperware and Tennis

I don't know about you, but I was glued to the DVR for this week's entry in "The Real Housewives of Orange County" saga. Jimbo gets called out, Lynne might be starting to come out of her fog and it's Beauty Day in Orange County.

Tamra and Alexis spend some time pretending to play tennis, since it didn't look like either one of them got many balls over the net. Talk eventually turned to Gretchen and Tamra declares Gretchen has yet to take down her blog about Tamra and just doesn't think she and Gretchen are meant to be friends. Alexis feels caught in the middle since she's pals with both ladies.

Later, Gretchen throws a Stepford Wives Tupperware party. Neither Tamra nor Miss Vicki were in attendance but there were plenty of fireworks without them. Now, you'd think the highlight of the night would have been the drag queen Tupperware Lady, Kay Sadia (pronounced "quesadilla.") Or maybe you'd think it was Alexis getting her panties in a bunch over one of Gretchen's friends supposedly putting the moves on Jimbo and going all Rambo on the woman over it. Or maybe even Jimbo being "oblivious" to the situation, yet delighting in it by telling Sleazy Slade and the other men that woman better watch out. No, no, the line of the night went to another one of the partygoers who shouted, "He is not attractive! No one is hitting on her husband!" Ladies and gents, give that woman the gold, because she called it and called it good.

So there are no hard feelings, Gretchen invites Alexis and Jimbo to the horse track with her and Sleazy Slade. Days later, Alexis' ire is still up over the whole thing and Jimbo continues to play clueless. Gretchen states this trip to the track is way more fun than last season's mean girl experience where Vicki and Tamra went out of their way to snub her and Lynne. Alexis tries to play peacemaker between Gretchen and Tamra and says when you listen to Tamra, all her points sound valid and that she and Gretchen should just get in a room together and talk. Gretchen rolls her eyes and Jimbo tells Alexis she doesn't know what she she's talking about. It's funny because last week, Alexis compared her marriage to Tamra's and Jimbo comes off just as condescending and controlling as Simon. Just saying.

The main focus of tonight's episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" was Lynne's ongoing issues with her daughter, Alexa. It looked as though Gretchen might not have been far off the mark with her concern, as Alexa repeatedly defied Lynne and stayed out past her curfew. Lynne wonders where she and Frank went wrong and Frank continues to bang the "typical teenager" drum. Seemingly out of options, Lynne and Frank brought back "The Teen Whisperer," Vanessa Van Petten to talk to both Alexa and Raquel, but mostly Alexa. Alexa finds it bogus that Lynne and Frank let Raquel run wild when she was 17 but now want to put the clamp down on her. She also slams them for not listening to her and storms out of the house, leaving Frank and Lynne looking dazed and confused.

On a lighter note, Miss Vicki muses about how different she is from the rest of the Housewives because she works and because of how hard she works, her home's not in foreclosure and that she's doing extremely well financially. To show her staff her appreciation for all of their hard work, Miss Vicki decides to throw a "Beauty Day," which in Orange County translates to tanning and Botox at the office. It was disconcerting to see a 20-something guy get Botox, but then I realized he was gay and I wasn't as freaked out.

Next week, Alexis continues her peacemaking mission, Miss Vicki wants to know what Slade's bringing to the table and the situation with Alexa escalates.
