"The Real Housewives of Orange County:" The Show Must Go On

Jeana Says so Long, Gretchen Gets Drunk and Alexis Annoys

It was a bittersweet episode of the "Real Housewives of Orange County" as original Housewife, Jeana Keough turned out the lights on her fellow Housewives.

We started the night with Gretchen and man-whore Slade travelling to Scottsdale, Ariz. to party with a friend of Gretchen's. Gretchen gets naked wasted on her own and she and Slade slobber all over each other on the dance floor. Later, they play the cutsie "I love you" no "I love you more" game. Slade is a straight-up phony. One and one just aren't adding up to two with him. First he dated Jo, then Lauri, then he and Jo did a show together and now, here he is again. I would say, Bravo give him his own show, but I just don't want to see him. Can we vote him off the island?

Tamra stops by to see the M.I.A Jeana and catch up. Jeana declares she's over the Housewives and their hot messes. Before she goes, she gives Tamra an update on her wayward husband, Matt. Turns out Matt was upstairs, but Jeana said he'd be out in a few weeks and their divorce was a month from being finalized. To boot, Matt was waiting to appear in court in connection with his DUI arrest (his second). Seems like Jeana is cleaning house in more ways than one.

We got to see more of new Housewife, Alexis. As I watched her order a martini over lunch, I was reminded of that apple pie scene in "When Harry Met Sally," (...I'd like the pie heated, and I don't want the ice cream on top. I want it on the side...). By the way Alexis, you're eccentric, not erotic. Later, Tamra and Simon have Alexis and her family over for a barbecue and Alexis busts out all three of her knockers. Tamra drools all over Alexis' doorknob wedding ring, huge boobs and two nannies who pretty much go everywhere with the family. Have nanny, will travel.

Lynne shows up halfway through the episode to move from the home she and her family have been leasing. Lynne and her husband, Frank, reiterate how difficult the economy has been on their finances and apparently those cuffs have been keeping the family afloat. Now I'm wondering, did they buy or lease the next home and is that when they were evicted? I guess I just have to Watch What Happens.

Tamra throws a private party for the ladies at the swank La Perla salon and tensions run high as Gretchen and Tamra anticipate seeing each other since the big blowout a few weeks ago. Turns out, it was much ado about nothing as the two pretty much ignore each other while Slade makes faces in the corner. What a tool. Speaking of tools, or maybe I mean hypocrites, Jim said it wasn't appropriate for Alexis to try on lingerie with men in the store. I nearly spit out my Coke when Alexis echoed this sentiment, but claimed a swimsuit was ok because it was "full coverage." I would not classify the teeny bikini she strutted around in at Tamra's house, with cameras, and two of her knockers looking for a quick escape, as "full coverage." Jim and Alexis are shaping up to be that creepy, condescending couple you hate. I am officially, not a fan.

Jeana provided the postscript for the episode as she prepared to ride off into the sunset. All her kids were home for dinner and her daughter, Kara observed Jeana's friendships seemed to be drying up. Jeana is a bit of an instigator and it seems to have bit her in the ass to some degree and her loyalty has sometimes been misplaced. I rarely agree with Miss Vicki, but a few seasons back, she observed Jeana is a chronic defender of bad behavior, starting with Matt's emotional abuse on down to her son Shane's hostile demeanor. It's admirable Jeana always wants to fight for the underdog, but sometimes, people are the underdog for a reason. Doesn't look as though the other Housewives will miss Jeana too much as Miss Vicki thinks her neighbor is toxic and Tamra calls Jeana out as the girl "who would fart" then ask who did it. It's clear Jeana has a big heart and would likely give you her last dime. The OC won't be the same without Mama Jeana, but as they say, the show must go on.

Next week, Tamra encounters more troubles with her son, Ryan, Jim keeps Alexis close at hand and the girls put on some wigs, boo.
