"The Real Housewives of Orange County" Together Again, Part Two

Real Husbands, Mama Jeana and Name Calling

"The Real Housewives of Orange County" closed out the season with Part Two of the reunion special and it was a doozy. Mama Jeana popped up to give her two cents and in a reunion first, the Husbands took their place on the couch (Simon's impromptu appearance on "The Real Housewives of New York City's" first season reunion doesn't count.)

Is it just me, or does Lynne look like she spends all her days in Category 5 Hurricane? Her face may have been pulled a little too tightly. Host Andy Cohen wanted to know what drugs Lynne was on. Lynne claimed to not be on anything, but I'm not sure anyone believed her, myself included.

The feud between Miss Vicki and Alexis took center stage as they recalled some of the names Miss Vicki has flung Alexis' way ("classless trash" for one. Miss Vicki even took a shot at Jimbo, calling him a "smelly dork," something she claims amnesia on). The San Francisco trip was discussed and the whole "texting and talking through dinner" was brought up. Alexis didn't appreciate Miss Vicki complaining about it, but to be fair, all the Housewives seemed to be annoyed by it that night. Andy wonders is Miss Vicki is jealous of Alexis, which she denies. However, Tamra pegs Alexis as being an extremely confident person who blew in as the "new Housewife" and that the way she carries herself is likely what rubbed Miss Vicki the wrong way.

Next, the ladies revisited the issue that just won't die, namely Miss Vicki's assertion that she's the only one that works. She tried to clarify by saying she's the only one that goes to an office, but as longtime viewers know, this is a relatively new development, as she worked out of her house for the first few seasons (with Lauri working for her.) Many of the Housewives felt hurt by what they saw as Miss Vicki putting them down for staying home with their kids, for not doing the traditional 9-5 or in Miss Vicki's case, 7-7 and digging at them because she was the only one without money troubles. Miss Vicki tried to apologize, but I think it fell flat with the ladies.

Jeana got on the couch for a few minutes to deliver updates on her kids and to call Tamra white trash. Jeana's another one who gives a dig then when she tries to explain what she meant, she just makes it worse. She also weighed in that Simon and Tamra should have stayed together. Of course, she stayed in a miserable marriage for far too long, so of anyone, you'd think she'd have some empathy for Tamra. A few seasons back, Miss Vicki correctly observed Jeana always gives a pass to bad behavior, so I guess it's not all that surprising she'd encourage Tamra to stay in a bad situation.

The real drama happened when the husbands joined the party. Simon was conspicuously absent, but Andy did ask Jimbo about him, since apparently they've become buds. Jimbo, who looked like he robbed a men's store in Vegas, essentially said Simon blamed the show for his marital woes and has declined to be involved with the show anymore. Jimbo was a particularly polarizing figure this season and Andy read a scathing viewer email to him, which called him a "self-centered bastard...

Donn revealed he'd wished he'd been around to defend Miss Vicki against Simon's verbal attacks and that because of Simon's treatment of his wife, they were no longer friends. Frank owned up to being financially irresponsible and admits he should have put the breaks on more with his family, especially when it came to facelifts and nose jobs. I really felt for Frank, because he seemed humbled by his mistakes. Time will tell if he's learned anything.

Sleazy Slade was next up to bat and he proved slippery indeed. He refused to admit he and Lauri ever dated and (badly) dodged Andy's question about whether or not they'd ever had sex (Lauri and Sleazy Slade, not Andy and Sleazy Slade). Even Gretchen seemed annoyed by his trying to wriggle out of that one, since she'd already admitted he'd slept with Lauri. Andy hammered away on the timing of Sleazy Slade's relationship with Gretchen, which happened fairly quickly after her fiancé, Jeff died. Sleazy Slade denied anyone says anything bad about him. Andy begged to differ, saying Bravotv.com had been flooded with emails from people with nothing but negative things to say about him.

At one point, Sleazy Slade and Miss Vicki got into it and the other husbands and a few of the wives joined in the gang bang. I laughed out loud when Alexis, still with her back up over Miss Vicki and Donn feigning snoring through her recitation at Lynne's dinner party about how she met Jimbo, made a point of bringing it up again. Donn, ever the straight shooter said "your story was long and boring." Yes it was, Donn. Yes it was.

The Florida debacle was re-examined as was the whole notion of what constitutes "normal" in a marriage, particularly when it comes to travelling together. Jimbo's defense was that when Housewives go travelling, bad behavior follows. Tamra, who had a similar "no travelling separately" arrangement with Simon, and didn't like it, thought it was an unconvincing argument. After all, you can walk down the street and get into trouble, something Jimbo and Alexis agreed with. I think bottom line, Jimbo knows he has a hot wife and doesn't trust her. Internet rumors claim she cheated on her first husband. I'm just saying. Jimbo also got hosed for thinking it's ok for Alexis to wear a skimpy bikini in public, but trying on lingerie in public was taboo. Since she's wearing a bikini to the pool, that's ok. Walking contradictions those two.

The night ended with Andy asking Miss Vicki if she was done with the Real Housewives, given her repeated remarks about how it was no longer fun. She said a lot of soul-searching would have to be done. I think it would be sad if she departed and all we were left with was Ditzy Lynne and Nut Job Alexis. I don't always agree with Miss Vicki and think she can be a little much sometimes, but she is an original Housewife after all, which counts for something. Get rid of Alexis instead!

No more Real Housewives of Orange County until next year. We'll just have to console ourselves with "The Real Housewives of New York City," The Real Housewives of New Jersey," "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills..."
