While on a boat chartered by Ramona Singer, Countess de Lesseps made it be known that Singer's husband made a derogatory remark aimed at her during a public event. Ramona appeared to not understand how one might be slightly sensitive to such remarks considering such ugly details about their personal life were made public. With Ramona's mood swings on the boat, the insinuations previously made about her mental health and on the reunion show last season might be called into question once again.
Previously it was stated that Countess de Lesseps made herself a target by publishing materials that insinuate she is the "go-to" girl for etiquette and manners. In tonight's premiere, with the one liners and zingers being thrown, it looks like the ladies are aiming below the belt. The title of "Classless" and the analogy of glass houses were used quite frequently tonight.
We see the dynamic duo of Jill and Bethenny at odds and no longer speaking. All details of events leading to the disintegration of their friendship involve Jill being told to "get a hobby" by Bethenny. In a flashback, Bethenny rehashed on a statement made to her by Ramona at one point in regards to Jill "liking underdogs." With the popularity and success of Bethenny's current business, only time will tell if we get to see whether or not that was a true statement. Its interesting watching the relationship between Bethenny and her boyfriend, Jason Hoppy who, later on impregnates her and eventually becomes her fiancée.
Taking on a minimal role in tonight's episode is Kelly Killoren Bensimon. Recovering from a domestic abuse scandal has left a noticeably subdued person in its wake and Kelly is clearly able to sympathize and relate to the drama unraveling with Countess de Lesseps due to her divorce from the count. Almost completely absent from tonight's storyline was Alex McCord. We saw her on the boat Ramona chartered but haven't been updated yet as to what exactly has been going on in her life.
The claws have been bared for this latest season of The Real Housewives of New York. I eagerly look forward to seeing where it takes us.
