The Real McCain: Truth from Fiction from a 'Locals' Point of View
Mainstream Media Fails Americans Again
How do I know this? As a former 45 year Arizonan, I have waited and waited for the real 'truth' of Senator McCain and his credentials and background to surface, as those of us in Arizona who have lived there at least 25 years or more are aware, when he first hit the political scene, and how he has 'represented' Arizona and Arizonans thereafter. While the media has been obsessed with Rev. Wright, or Senator McCain alleged 'affair' with some lobbyist, the real skinny has been glossed over and avoided, due to the McCain press machine it would appear. The mainstream media has a love affair with Senator McCain that defies logic, nor the truth, continuing to cite his service in Vietnam, and then subsequent capture as a POW for years at the Hanoi Hilton. There is one news reporting source that has not been contaminated thus far by the McCaiin machine, and it is located in his home state of Arizona. It is the Phoenix New Times, which has quite accurately covered Senator McCain's true biography and betrayal of his true constitutents, the Arizona citizens, in favor of his corporate backers for many, many years.
The hypocricy of his stated intentions with respect to Iraq and possibly 'bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran' while supporting his 'open borders' policies (don't believe the campaign lies, look at his actual record with respect to border security and the amnesties his supported for his developer buddies). The loss of life and property thefts going on in his own backyard in Arizona are testament to his betrayal - and two of those 9/11 pilots actually trained in Arizona less than 10 miles from my home as represented in the 9/11 report. Mr. McCain is an honorary member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Arizona, while the City of Phoenix is the highest in the nation for property thefts and reaching top five in violent crime due to the open border situation - and drug related crimes and gang activity are also increasing by the year. While Senator McCain is supportive of securing Israel (and Iraq's) borders, for well over seven years since 9/11 has betrayed the very citizens in Arizona paying his rather lofty salary and benefits.
When the families of the still missing POWs and MIAs from the Vietnam conflict contacted Senator McCain to ask for his assistance in tracking down their whereabouts after relations were established with Vietnam, he call them 'wackos.'
Thousands of seniors lost millions of dollars due to the Charles Keating/Keating 5 (of which Senator McCain was a member) debachle, the 'solution' for which and bailout for that banking crisis cost Arizonans and Americans billions of dollars - while Senator McCain's friendship with Mr. Keating enriched his stock portfolios, and paid vacations on the Keating corporate jets to the Bahamas. The S&L fiasco of the 80's and Congress's solution and bailout is actually what is responsible for the mortgage loan crisis of today - the banks began writing more creative and risky loans since so many homeowners lost their homes or were burned during the S&L crisis, and the banks were dealing with a rather skitterish home buy public.
This is the man you want with his finger on the red button? One who would betray America and Americans for his own personal benefit or power trips?
I'm truly wondering how he continues to look himself in the mirror each day, and would suggest any American who does 'research' the candidates prior to casting their vote, to read the Phoenix New Times articles (you can get them online), for the true story of the character and background of possibly your next 'Commander in Chief,' who believes in expensive foreign engagements, while leaving America's borders, and even his own neighbors, at far greater risk each and every day by his negligence to secure the real border needing protection - our own, and not Israel's or Iraq's.

Sorry about the mistake on the German penname.....but appears you believe you know something about Arizona politics. Since it is the federal government's job to provide for the common defense, and it was and has been Mr. McCain's maverick betrayals of the will of the Arizona citizens who have spoken loud and clear on this issue, after having been victimized by the open borders for decades, while our Governor is actually a co-conspirator, because the state does have a remedy in suing under the Constitution for the sums necessary to secure that border, they are all also the primary beneficiary of the corporate benefactors in placing corporate profits over national security at the Arizona (and American) citizens expenses. Four times the amount of lives have been lost in this country at the hand of illegals since 9/11, and millions of dollars in property loss. Since you have a blocked account it appears, could not personally respond to your inaccurate assessment. I am not voting for Obama at all, and am an independent as don't feel either party platforms have anything to do with out intended form of government and Constitution. George Bush was the ultimate "maverick," and believe McCain is representive of his personal interests and big business most of all, and expanded government just as Bush expanded government and spending like no other, particularly military spending on these offensive, rather than defensive, wars for the defense contractors and big business. Obama is also big government, and government spending.
Both McCain and Obama are dirty. Looking at the executive branch of Arizona, however, it's Democrats. You have to remember the functions of Governor vs Senator for their State before you blame on one or the other.
I'm assuming you'd vote for Obama. I'm setting out this time. The way I see it, either one you vote for going to be same once in the office.
In rereading this again, the last several weeks have seen some changes in the reporting, and although both senators to me neither follow the Constitution a great deal, Senator McCain does appear to be listening and responding to at least many Americans concerns regarding the length of this war and energy policies - while Obama has a less clear handle on this aspect, one many are very concerned with. At least he has tempered and admitted that ending it now is a priority, rather than his earlier stance to one in which the majority it appears now feel should be ended immediately, but if not as soon as reasonably possible.....A great change from his earlier comments.
