The Real Reasons Kate Divorced Jon

Whose Side Are You on in the Gosselin Divorce?

Jane Meyer
Over the past three months, I have become a Jon & Kate + 8 junkie. Unable to resist reading about their messy divorce and Jon's new objectionable taste in women, I intensely read the tabloids while on line at the supermarket. It seems as though the public used to feel sorry for poor, meek Jon. But now Kate has risen above the fray and we all are rooting for her.

The Gosselins are undoubtedly feeling harassed and tired of the paparazzi. However, Kate has made the media her friend and takes advantage of public appearances and talk show interviews. She shows off her ability to speak in a professional, comprehensive manner and gets her point across calmly.

Here are the two main reasons why Kate was right to divorce Jon:

Gosselin Divorce Reason #1 - Working Mother / Stay at Home Father

Boy, is Jon lucky he was on a reality show! If he was a normal person who had eight kids and was forced to have a regular office job, the family might have been on welfare. On the show, Jon never seemed engaged in what was happening in the family.

Kate is the parent who realized that the reality show contract with TLC might not last forever. She has worked hard to build other sources of income for the family. In the last five years since the show has been on the air, she has authored two books and booked countless exclusive, paid television interviews and appearances. She also helps the kids earn money for their future by showing up for photo opportunities with the kids in tow.

Here is a question to ponder: What has Jon done for the family in terms of securing a future income beyond the reality show?

Gosselin Divorce Reason #2 - Demonstrating Bad Judgment

Kate always seems to be the voice of reason when it comes to the kids' well-being. Jon seems to ban the notion of caution from his mind. On the show, I have seen John let the older girls ride on the back of his moped, at a speed that I wouldn't be comfortable with if it were my child.

In another episode, the kids were given Crooked Houses. Jon wanted to have the install team build the houses in the woods at the edge of the backyard. Kate stuck to her guns when she disregarded Jon's request and had the houses built in the backyard, where she could fully supervise the kids playing in the Crooked Houses, from the back of the main house.

I agree with Kate that it was dangerous for the kids to play in the woods without close supervision. Jon, Kate or the nannies might not always want to stand in the woods to supervise the children. Again, Kate showed better judgment and had the kids' safety at the top of her mind. Jon demonstrated again his immaturity in this matter.

I don't' blame Kate for being frustrated with Jon's reluctance to contribute to the family's income and his lack of proper decision making with the kids' safety. Kate is better off as a divorced mother and will absolutely provide a proper childhood to all eight kids. She is going to make sure her family is secure. Kate alone will give all of the necessary financial and emotional support those adorable kids need, with or without Jon in the picture.

these parents are narcissistic, sociopathic, misanthropic, egotists. some of that genetic expression is already evident in those kids. if they don't want their kids publicly diagnosed then GET EM OFF THE AIR !!

in the beginning Jon had a full time job. He actually was the only one working. How can you say he has done nothing for the future of his family. He worked she didnt. now she was working and he wasnt. Hmm someone is a little biased on this topic and wow I have to say it is both their faults and really who the F cares??? man leave these people alone already...
