Wicca is simply a religion of the Earth. Followers of the Wicca religion believe in a moral code of living harmoniously together with mother earth and believe in the empowerment of self. They are not demon chasers, they do not drink animal blood, the do not cast spells to do harm to people. Wiccans do not believe in the devil, they do believe in God and a Goddess. They do not believe that God has a beard, but they do believe in a supreme deity. They join to worship with people that believe in peace and harmony. But Hollywood has glamorized witches into these sexy women who can perform supernatural spells and ninja moves. They portray that becoming a witch is glamorous, when in fact it is a religion like any other religion that gather to worship and want to do good for the world. They believe in the sanctity of marriage and raising children to believe in their religion and to practice peaceful resolutions. They are not evil people, but are often confused with other groups that do inflict harm.
A lot of the misnomers of WICCA are that WICCA actually is an abbreviation of something, and it is not, it actually means "wise" in old English. Witches can cast spells, when in fact witches believe in the natural energy that emits from all living beings. They believe this is where power illuminates from. A warlock is a male witch, where in fact they are called witches as well or Wiccans, warlock actually is the word for traitor. The book of shadows is not a book that can be purchased, it a journal that each member keeps. Because they use the pentagram they must be part of a devil worship Covent. This is not true, one point up and two points to the side represents the perfect human. The upside down pentagram is just opposite. The Wicca religion of five points is a representation of their basic beliefs. Which are like the Ten Commandments that the Christians follow 1) If is harm none, do what you will, 2) the law of attraction, 3) harmony and serenity 4) power through knowledge and 5) progressive reincarnation.
