The Reality of Clean

I am no longer the hopeful smile when waking up, nor

The yes it's almost ready, nor the come give me a hug.

I am no more a merry wisher for anyone's good luck, nor

A two stairs at once taker, nor a no shoes on my rug!

I am no longer a smiling working can be fun,

Hang in there' till it's over, nor in fact, my opponent won.

And I never even try to be a let me get that for you, nor a

Please put litter in its place, never a these accommodations will do.

I am not ever, any longer a come cry on my shoulder,

An Oprah show watcher, nor even a clean clothes folder.

I am, however, wiser than then, though

With no smile on my face, sometimes wishing life would end.
