The Reality of Poetry

Poetry reveals the most intimate and dark emotions of a poet. Poets express themselves diversely, utilizing creative avenues to induce readers into their world. The talent that a poet possesses speaks a personal language. Poetry has become one of the most successful channels for expression. Poetry has been around for many years and has been written by people of all different cultures, backgrounds or gender. Poetry may convey itself adversely and moreover, the creator is often pleasantly submissive.

We have all read or quoted poetry as simple as "Roses are Red," to more controversial lyrics from Bob Dylan's, "Tambourine Man." Yet, each verse affects us individually. The truth is, for a writer, the pen speaks its emotion, its passion. It is the way that a poet shares how they feel, at least for that particular moment about any topic. When the erg to write hits you, it is an unbelievable feeling. You have to stop where you are and write down your immediate thoughts. Yes, it is that powerful. Poetry is our song without the music. It is our art without paint. Ironically, many musicians utilize poets to create songs and many singers are actually poets. Inevitably, poetry often assists readers to manage personal issues, therefore providing inspiration, comfort and humor.

Obviously, everyone does not posses such talent to write poetry. It is a unique skill to formulate words, thoughts, sentiments in a formal format in order to relay a message. Poetry may have rhythm. It may be in a sonnet formation or it may be delivered as spoken word. Because poetry has generated from many cultures, race, gender and backgrounds, the messages are unique and capable of personally effecting individuals. Its significant power has captured the interests and hearts of millions of people. As eminent as the impact that poetry has for its readers; is the passion that creative writing occupies to communicate its hidden treasures, sentiments. Many discover their talent at a young age. At that time you may undoubtedly create your own identity. How one classifies and selects each word to articulate, may identify a poets' personality or character. This will actually enable adamant poet readers to identify a poet by its content and/or arrangement.

In case you have not concluded, I am also a poet. I enjoy reading poetry, yet my passion is to write it. Again, I must share with you. The thundering feeling that encompasses a poets' ambience, the craving, is extraordinary. We often write about experiences, which some of them may not be our own. However, it has great impact and is substantial in the affect that it has on everyone.

Finally, poetry is a great tool for relaxation. It allows you to get away from stressful situations and learn of others' pains, suffering and most importantly, triumphs. Everyone has the opportunity to gain something from reading the lyrics of a poet. Whether you fancy spoken word or simply reading a book of poetry by your favorite poet, its personal rewards are colossal.
