To start your Red Avocado dining experience you can opt for a small bowl of hummus for $4.00 or large for $7.50. Fresh pita bread comes with your order. There is no skimping when it comes to portions, and this appetizer is worth the price.

Are you adventurous? Try the jerk tempeh. The menu calls it "the hottest sandwich in Iowa City." It is grilled tempeh with Jamaican jerk sauce. The jerk sauce is spiced with home grown Iowan habaneros.

Lunch is served Tuesday - Friday from 11 AM - 2:30 PM. Dinner is served 5:30 PM - 9 PM. Brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

You can also opt to make to-go orders for an extra 50 cents.
