The Red Cross Runs Out of Money

S. Hedrick
The Red Cross has announced that it is out of money. Unfortunately, with all of the bad weather across America and the world, it has depleted all of the money that the Red Cross has to use. The Red Cross was organized for the first time in Geneva, Switzerland in 1863. The first charter that came to America was in Dansville, N.Y. on August 22, 1881 and was first used in September of 1881 against forest fires in Michigan. Since these dates in time, the Red Cross has helped thousands if not millions of people around the world in every possible way and situation that it could.

With no money left, the Red Cross is now taking out loans to pay for the help that people need. The Red Cross is a charitable organization and does not get money from the government. With so many disasters that have occurred over the past few months and the economy being down, money has been hard to come by. Less and less donations are given when people don't have money to spare. The worst part of the organization running out of money right now is the fact that the mid west needs a lot of help. The Red Cross wants to use 15 million dollars to help people get back to their lives in the mid west. Its not looking to good for them right now. Even if the Red Cross gets loans for helping others, it still has to think about the future.

With bank loans having higher rates now then we are used to and the dollar bill losing its weight, then what happens if we have another couple of bad months ahead of us. What will happen if the Red Cross can't get the money needed to pay back all of its debt that it needs in order to help the people that need it. Will the government step in and help an organization that has done so much for so many people or will the taxpayers of this country end up paying in the end like we normally do.
The Red Cross needs our help to help others. It depends mostly on volunteers and donations. If you would like to help the Red Cross in anyway that you can then I encourage you to visit their website at www.redcross.gov. This is important to everyone, not just in America but everywhere.
