Tonight I had the enjoyment of viewing the total lunar eclipse or the Red Moon for my southern state. Having this be my first time watching this spectacular event I had no clue as to what to expect. As soon as it was brought to my attention that there was going to be a lunar eclipse and one will not happen again until 2010, I dashed outside to see what I could see.
There is was the Red Moon in all its glory. It has a orange tint to it with a shadow of a white crescent shape on the side. I stood outside for a few more minuets expecting to see more and nothing happened. I was expecting some kind of blackout. That assumption is due to my lack of researching the event prior to experiencing it. However, the Red Moon is suppose to last for an hour starting at 10pm Eastern time and 7pm Western. Go check it out. It is so amazing.
