For about a year, there has been a game that many gamers waited for and it was finally released in September. This game was Spore. Electronic Arts has worked on this great game for years. Ever since the rumors of its launch, gamers were completely into its marvelous idea and game play concept. The idea of the game is for you to make your own civilization and creature from cell stage and work it up all the way to dominating the galaxy.

Before the game came out, spore creature creator was released. This program allowed the creation of spore creatures. You got to design your creature the way you wanted to and were able to share it with others. People played with this amazing program for hours and then finally came the major launch of Spore. Gamers waited at the opening time of Gamestop, Best Buy, and other stores to grab their copy of Spore as fast as they can to take home and play. When people started out playing, they were not disappointed. The cell stage was a bit boring, but short. The user's creature enters land where things get very interesting. They can choose to go towards making peace with every other civilization, or be aggressive and get rid of all other civilizations. You will continue to progress and enter different stages and gain more population, technology, and people as you enter more advanced stage. The last stage of Spore is the galactic stage. You travel from solar systems to solar system in order to dominate the planet and become the highest ranking officer. After you have beaten the game on one area, there are many other settings and galaxies that you can start a new game on. You can also play online and play with other people, attempting to dominate their spore creatures.

The good thing about this game is its spectacular, unique game play and graphics. It takes advantage of DX10, and the graphics look great. It's also very enjoyable to play. The bad thing about the game is that it gets boring after you beat it once. For many people, starting a new creature from cell stage to dominating the galaxy again becomes a boring process after you have established one large empire. This feeling of repetition is the only thing that prevents spore from becoming one of the greatest games. Hopefully, expansions or more features for this game will be released which make people want to continue playing and discovering the new world of Spore!
