The Republic of Tea Review: Mango Chili Raw Green Bush Tea

One of the Best Teas I Have Ever Tried!

Susan Brown
So recently I had the opportunity to try what I can honestly call one of the most delicious and exotic teas I have tried yet! And let me tell you, it was a wonderful experience.

The tea I am raving about is from a company called The Republic of Tea. Years ago, as gifts for my in-laws-to-be, I bought cute tins of this company's tea as little gifts when I flew up to see the family. They make great gifts simply because the tins alone are cute! Each 36-bag tin costs about $10, and you can visit the company's website at www.republicoftea.com to see the full array of flavors and varieties and you can also find them at many stores, like Cost Plus World Market where I often buy mine.

So, my latest tea venture was about one of their latest and newest varieties from the Raw Green Bush tea line. This line of tea is a very antioxidant-rich and minimally-processed green tea from South Africa. It has many times more amounts of antioxidants than your typical green tea, and the flavors all sound delicious.

I personally tried the Mango Chili variety. It is a very exotic and delicious-smelling tea, with a great combination of the Raw Green Rooibos and fragrant, luscious mango and a surprisingly wonderful little kick of chili.

It actually gives you the feeling like you could be burning a little extra fat with that kick of chili, and the taste is really great especially if you add a hint of honey. It is both sweet and spicy, and it has a wonderful natural flavor of real mango in it. It is rather low in tannins, so you don't have to worry too much about it staining your teeth... but one thing it does do is increase your energy naturally and awaken your senses!

Another thing I really loved about this tea variety was that it tastes great served both hot and cold. I love some refreshing flavored iced teas, but I often find that it is difficult to find varieties that actually taste good ice cold. This is a great one to use! Just add twice as many bags as you would when making hot tea, and taste how great healthy drinks can be!

Plus, the company saves a lot of waste by packaging their teas in little all-natural, unbleached and tagless as well as staple-free and string-free bags. They are cute little round bags that are easy to plop right in. And as I mentioned already, the tins these little pouches come in are to die for - each with a different design!

I would definitely recommend this tea for anyone who wants to drink healthier and who is tired of the same stuffy old tea varieties. Plus, this tea is naturally caffeine free, so you can feel free to drink it at night and still get some great sleep!
