The Return of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater to Atlanta

Dance theatre is still proving to be a cultural ambassador to the world.
The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) will grace the Atlanta stage of the Fox Theater, Feb. 18-21. AAADT will perform in other American cities this year.

AAADT has worked tirelessly to change the perceptions of American modern dance. Founded by Alvin Ailey, the dance theater is led by Judith Jamison, a 20-year artistic director. Under her direction, AAADT has performed on six continents and in every state in the United States with the exception of two.

The Ailey Arts in Education and Community programs help to bring dance to communities and schools. The Ailey Extension offers fitness and dance classes to the general public. Classes and events are held at the Joan Weill Center for Dance in New York City, 55th Street at 9th Avenue.

The Atlanta event is presented by the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation.
