The Return of Blink-182

Older bands from the pop punk music style have begun to produce new music this year.

First, it was Green Day with their new album, "21st Century Breakdown," which already has two singles that were released to radio. Now, it is Blink-182.

Blink-182 was together as a group until 2003, when they officially broke up to do different things. After the breakup there were members of the group came together to produce three different groups-Boxcar Racer, +44 and Angels and Airwaves.

But Blink-182 has reunited and returned back to start recording music and going on tour.

The tour will begin in about a month's time, beginning in Canada and then to the United States. The tour kicks off on July 28 in Vancouver. Fall Out Boy will be the opening act for Blink-182 on this tour.

In addition, Blink-182 announced that they will be working on a new album that is due out sometime next year. The group originally said the album would come out sometime this year, but pushed it off so that it doesn't interfere with their new tour.

However, the group did announce they will be releasing a new single, which is planned for a July 23 release date, according to the MuchMusic Web site.

The single is called "Up All Night." The Web site said the single will have influences from the classic rock groups Pink Floyd and Rush, but would continue to have the normal Blink-182 sound, according to Tom DeLonge.

"It's crazy, but it somehow sounds exactly like where we left off," Delonge said to Billboard Magazine. He added that it was a great song.

MuchMusic.com noted that the sales of the concert tickets were higher than expected by most music critics.

But it remains unclear as to if they will have as much commercial success with their latest music as Green Day is in the pop punk genre.
