The Return of Spring - a Poem

Rachael A. Lund
The warm sun upon my face,
the gentle breezes that blow,
the fragrance of damp earth inhaled,
wash away memories of snow.

Colorful flowers start to bloom
in purple, white, and blue,
while the birds happily sing,
as if life has begun anew.

The green grass does emerge,
and little buds upon the trees,
flitting of delicate butterflies,
pleasant humming of the bees.

The earth reawakens
in the season for which I've yearned,
bringing a smile to my face,
for spring has returned.

Even on the edge of Autumn this is a beautiful poem and makes me long for spring again.

Lovely. I think we skipped spring here and went straight to summer.
