The Revelation and Future of Michael Vick's NFL Career

Alfonso Coley
There was a time that the majority of sports writers, sports analyst, and syndicated sports networks banned any discussion if Michael Vick would ever become a top notch quarterback in the NFL. There was also a time when Michael Vick was deemed as one of the most versatile and exciting football players that entered into the ranks of the NFL during 2001. The most appealing aspect of Michael Vick's brand new resurgence as a top flight NFL quarterback has to be one of the feel good stories in sports today.

When Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid decided to take a chance and let Michael Vick have the opportunity to play football again, it was a risky one, but it seems that Coach Reid's decision was the right one in light of Vick's troubled past.

No one in the media, or any football fan could have predicted what Michael Vick would do or accomplish as he returned to a game that he once took for granted, but it seems as though that Vick has put the past behind him, and he now has a new respect for the game of professional football.

Michael Vick's revelation came at a time when he was imprisoned for nearly two years due to his dog fighting debacle which nearly cost him his NFL career. It is no mystery that Michael Vick had the tools to become a successful and dynamic quarterback, but sometimes the maturation process takes some people longer to grasp than others. The Michael Vick story is truly a feel good tale that deserves to be recognized - as the man that once acted like a spoiled child has now gained respect from the NFL community, and from those who once donned him as despicable human being. This is the revelation and future of Michael Vick - and only time will tell how he will be remembered as a professional football player - and as a man whom once walked on the wild side of life, the hard knock lessons of life we all must come to terms with.

Michael Vick two year jail term from 2007 unto 2008 led him to do some serious soul searching, and now he has been given a second chance opportunity to prove he can become one of the elite QB's in the National Football League.

Thanks Bernadette for leaving your comment on this article, especially being a Philadelphia native, it has taken him some time to get acclimated with the system in Philadelphia, but for now Vick is playing great football as a QB. Would be interesting to see if he can take his team to a divisional playoff win, maybe even a Super Bowl.

I had long ago given up on the Eagles, but their decision to give Michael Vick another chance has made me give them another look. As a Philadelphia native I want Michael to know we are pulling for him to succeed. Tell Rush Limbaugh he can just go roll his opinions up with his oxycodon and smoke them, and anyone else who can't cope with hope can join him. Go Mike, go!!!!
