The rhythm of the sea;
Crashing upon the shore;
Matches the beating of my troubled heart;
Gulls circling above;
In this unforgiving land;
My feet are caked;
In grains of wet sand;
The waves show no mercy;
As they collapse fortress walls;
Yet, I wait for that gentle voice;
That will lower the tides again;
So that I may reach to safety;
The promise that awaits me;
On tomorrow's shores
Crashing upon the shore;
Matches the beating of my troubled heart;
Gulls circling above;
In this unforgiving land;
My feet are caked;
In grains of wet sand;
The waves show no mercy;
As they collapse fortress walls;
Yet, I wait for that gentle voice;
That will lower the tides again;
So that I may reach to safety;
The promise that awaits me;
On tomorrow's shores
