"On the one hand, you've got people who ... don't want to see innocent children executed for no other crime than the irresponsibility of their would-be parents."
The key word that's so provocative: "irresponsibility".
Well, I stand by that comment. The fact is that, barring rapes, which make up only a tiny percentage of abortions, the only reason for getting an abortion is because you went and got yourself pregnant. In my book, that means you've already made your "choice".
If you want to kill your own baby, you can try to justify it to yourself any way you like. But don't you DARE try to tell me that it is anything other than what it is.
There are a plethora of contraceptives available, and adoption has always been an option. There are plenty of other "choices" that could have been made, and more that are still available even after conception, but ending a life - any life - is never an acceptable option in a civilized society.
Women who get abortions, excepting medical situations, are, in the largest part, only doing so because they want a quick fix for a "mistake", instead of owning up to the consequences of their choices and taking responsibility for their actions.
That attitude is deplorable. That the exercise of this so-called "right" involves the taking of a life is beyond despicable. And I won't even talk about the potential of a life thrown completely away on somebody else's whim!
So, instead of wasting your energy trying to convince thinking folk like myself that up is down or some other such nonsense, why don't you all start exercising some self-discipline, some discretion, and show a little bit of personal responsibility, or at least maturity. Or even humanity. Is that too much to ask?
And, frankly, I don't really care if my thoughts on the matter offend anyone. If it ticks you off, maybe it'll shake a thought loose in your congealed heads. As Ben Franklin once said, the sting of a rebuke is the truth. If it hurts, maybe you should think about why before lashing out at me.
To be clear, I am not against abortion. It makes me sad that it happens, and it IS wrong, in every way that a thing can be wrong. But, I believe it should be allowed to continue.
For one, making abortion available publicly increases the odds that a person who considers abortion a "right", will get one. Anyone who would do something so stupid, so selfish, so flat-out evil, is someone I don't want to reproduce anyway.
For another, I want the people who get abortions to live because, as I said, I really believe that no life should be thrown away, no matter the mistakes made - and especially not on generalities. But, more, I want those people to have a good many years ahead of them, so that they might finally realize what it means to have to live with the consequences of a mistake that can never be undone. Maybe, someday, our society will learn from them.
Finally, for those who argue that women are going to get abortions whether it is legal or not, so, therefore, they should remain legal to protect the health of the women - sorry, I'm not buying it. If all the Osama bin Ladens of the world argued that they were going to keep on killing whether it is legal or not (and that they have the 'right' to do so), so we should give them standardized medical care to ensure at least they remain healthy, I'd say exactly the same thing, because they are exactly the same argument.

Post a CommentAny of you women think that some births or your birth is a mistake???? give me an answer or some answers............thanks
If a woman's right to abortion is taken away. Then all of our other rights are in jeopardy as well. Government can say we don't like women to vote, to have a career, drive a car, to be independant
or in some cases if the women is poor they can say she is not fit to be a mother because of economic disadvantage and try to take away her right to be a mother.
Imagine not being able to own a property because you're a woman.
folks things use to be bizzare during 1800 we can't go backwards.
Abortion is a difficult decision. A woman must have a right to decide what happens to her. God has given us a free will. Government need to stay out of a private family matter. Anything short of that is unciviliazed .
Oh yeah, and until you're capable of carrying a fetus....your opinion is null and void when it comes to pregnancy. you have no right to tell someone else what to do with their life or their body, and you should respect that just as much as others respect your right to smother your opinion on others.
its despicable to me when someone thinks they can pry into a person's personal life so much to find out what they do with their bodies/fetus and argue against it! none of your business in the first place!!!
i think its more responsible to end a pregnancy than to bring an unwanted child into the world that will eat up the states resources and welfare, not to mention have an awful family life being shuttled around in foster care and possibly never feeling wanted because their birth mother gave them up. not to mention the hospital bills if you don't have medical insurance. even if you don't agree with it, these facilities need to stay open and functioning because otherwise women will put themselves in that much more danger aborting a fetus they don't want. there's no way you can force a woman to carry a fetus she doesn't want, so i say keep abortion legal and available because what are the consequences.....are you going to say people just can't have sex? oh no wait...WOMEN shouldn't have sex since they'll have to deal with the result. guys can get away scott free huh. lets just let men have sex and keep our women tied up at home being holy little virgins until marriage. lol
That photo is altered. It would be impossible for a baby's foo to leave that clear of an impression through the layers of uterus, muscle, fat, and skin. Also, babies are generally curled up in utero; they stretch and kick, but they don't hold a tense pose, such as the one that would be needed to have the force to press into the mother's stomach like that.
That said, it is still an interesting photo...
Why can we abort a baby in the womb but not outside it? What's the dif really?

Great read I was saying before it was cut off.
Also, God shows how hypocritical some of us are. "You say it is okay to kill someone AGAINST their will so long as you have a sufficent reason for wanting them dead, as in war, or an execution, or a doctor in the parking lot of an abortion clinic. Yet if the person has sufficent reason for WANTING themselves dead, you may not help them die. That would be "assisted suicide." It is insane that God CONDONE your killing someone AGAINST his will, and that I would CONDEMN your killing someone in ACCORDANCE with his will. This is the kind of tortured logic with which people construct entire lives & complete theologies.
So many other subjects in this book, too!! Take care. Just wanted to share.
Abortion is wrong and should be illegal. Feminism has ruined America, and killing unborn babies is even worse.
Great job Bryan. I like the fact that you are not afraid to speak your opinions, no matter what others may think.
