The Right to Beauty
Paid Dues
Why are women so jealous of another she?
Does physical beauty mean she knows the secret to the key?
Of life as we know it,
Blessed by the lucky gene,
People assume the beautiful are all rotten and mean,
Or they need not look further than to glimpse at a mirror,
As if their reflection will magically bring adoration and fame.
Necessities and wants are not one in the same.
Do beautiful people even have to participate in life's cruel game?
What makes the beautiful triumph over their pain?
Jealousy makes people go sour,
Or the person more lost as time clicks by each hour.
By giving dirty looks? Bow your head down in shame.
She that is beauteous is not fair game.

You summed up so well the conflicts people feel about beauty. For instance, some wonder why models are treated as celebrities for being able to model while other, less beautiful on the exterior, are judged for their less striking looks. I think it is the ultimate unfairness of life, with some studies showing those who look pretty get favorable treatment, that irks some. It really doesn't bother me because I figure we all change, grow, age and have our unique strengths and weaknesses.
