The Right Haircut for Your Face

After I Looked Up Different Styles, I Finally Chose the Hairstyle that was Perfect for Me

Getting a haircut takes time. When I decide to cut, color or highlight my hair, it ends up being a process in and of itself.

Hitting the internet as soon as the idea of changing my hair comes to mind, I search celebrities, look through old magazines, and picture my face on some random girls face to see how her hair would look on me.

After doing quite a bit of research, I found that when choosing a hairstyle, the key to getting the perfect haircut is the shape of your face.

After I looked up different styles I finally chose the hairstyle that was perfect for me! I want to help you girls find your face shape so that you too can have the perfect hair style!

Triangular-Shaped Face

A triangular-shaped face starts to get narrow from the lips down, or around the dimples. It's at its widest around your jaw line.

Haircut & Style

A triangular face is perfect for short haircut styles. Try not to style your hair with too much mousse and volume (avoid the mushroom).

Diamond-Shaped Face

A diamond-shaped face typically has a small pointy chin and narrow forehead. Facial features tend to be smaller, but cheek bones are nice and wide.

Haircut & Style

The perfect hairstyle for a diamond shaped face is a style that balances your facial features. In order to get a nice haircut that goes with your hair, you need a style that calms your cheekbones and narrows your forehead.

Rectangular-Shaped Face

A rectangular-shaped face is wide. Chin and jaw are full featured, while they have a short forehead.

Hairstyle & Style

Most short haircuts work well with a rectangular shaped face. The facial structure makes a rectangular shaped face look a bit wider. Try layering, straightening, curling, soft curls, and get a little fullness with your hair. When you get your hair cut tell the stylist to keep some height at the crown.

Oval-Shaped Face

An oval-shaped face is long and the features are generally long.

Haircut & Style

Oval-shaped faces do great with shoulder cuts. It is also good to try layering as well. I have an oval-shaped face and I like to keep my hair with an angle, one long layer in the back and side bangs.

Heart-Shaped Face

A heart-shaped face is typically wide with a short forehead and a pointy chin.

Haircut & Style

Haircuts that go chin length are the best suited for this shape.
