The Rights of People

And the Wrongs

Lori Lane
Animals are not toys for humans to play with. They are living creatures that deserve love just as we do. When an animal is welcome into a home, the family hugs and praises it in hopes that this animal will be the one that makes them smile for years to come. What happens when a person loses that flair to love that animal? Do they drop it off in the woods or give it to someone else? Do they harm it in hopes that it would never return? The owner of such animal should take responsibility for their thoughtless ways, for an animal is not the flavor of the week. An animal does hurt when it is taking from an environment it has gotten so used to. Be responsible when choosing an animal for animals do have rights within this world, same as every living thing.

When you have children, they should matter most. To bring an exotic or unique pet into your home is not wise since exotic pets are wild hearted and can 'turn' at any time unpredictably. I read an article about a boa who choked a child. Where is the supervision and responsibility for what one brings into their homes? This angers many since a week before the child had been choked, the parents stated that they had 'rights' to keep the boa. The news is full of such situations that unfold but when the victim and family members had a chance to change the sad outcomes, they ignore it and think about their 'rights to own'.

Drinking is the most false honesty that one can find. You may find others love you more when they drink. It's the alcohol talking, not the heart. Drinking is not a fad although others stereotype it to be. It would be interesting to see a drunk confront the parents of a victim of a drunk driver. Watch them as they find the strength not to slap that drunk. Drinking can destroy a liver in time not to mention a persons good minded brain. For those who have never seen a drinker get old, let me help paint that picture. Say you have gray hair, lines on your face, bowel problems, can't seem to concentrate or show up on time at work, temper from hell at times along with a scent of Budweiser or Jack Daniels for your cologne. That would be a great world for someone who wants to live it but did I mention that the ripe age you had just hit was most likely 45? At 45, sure some of these things should occur yet when a person drinks for a long while, they destroy the insides which then destroys the outside of their body, so to speak. It is never easy to stop drinking if you live next to a bar so it would be better to move or simply turn the other way. Drinkers 'rights', how interesting. A person has a right to destroy their body only to have their kids tape it back together? If one can not control a drinker then make time for those witnessing or stuck in that situation, for they have rights too.

A lack of family values gets many upset but where do we draw that line? Sharon Osbourne tosses that ham onto a neighbors lawn on television only to laugh about the neighbor and insult them to the world. Perhaps Sharon has no manners or a lack of family values. It is alright to be a 'rebel' they say but once someone has to manage the rebellious behavior behind a person, it changes this view. For those who desire the right to spit on others, slap a person, yell at them, poke fun at others, then you have little respect in the world of others and have little to no idea what doing the 'right' is. When a child has a lack of family value they can end up in some serious unfortunate situations by their own doing yet when they do end up there, we seem to hear a parent yell at them, judge them and possibly disown them. Who did this to that child in the first place? Take a good look at the parents who cared more about themselves and less of teaching or guiding their child in positive directions when that child was young. Do what you can for children to help them better understand the world for, again, they do have rights too.

The world is a beautiful place when one views it as such although when a person finds wrong with it, the world could turn to a darkened place of disappointments or anger. The human heart should be the most important, next to the human brain so take care of yourselves out there while in the world and let the flaws of others pass you by. There is nothing you can do when someone may be out of control and shout about their 'rights', so do what is best for you because at least with that, there can be no wrong.
