Warning: Dangerous Riptide Ahead
On the surface, the seas appear calm
But in the murky water, we must be able to tread
The rip current is so easily disguised
We often do not see the harm until it is too late
Then, we are left struggling to stay afloat
Trying to avoid a disastrous fate
But riptides can be conquered
We can break free from its iron grasp
If we ride it out the current without a sense of panic
The danger will fade and eventually pass
It is when we struggle against the tide
That we lose our stamina and then the fight
When we give up control; we gain control
We can wade through the darkness and into the light
We all have to take on our own riptides
Powerful forces that drown us in desperation
When we fight smart, we can beat the enemy
We win the battle with patience and determination
