The Risks Involved with an Abortion

There are many abortion risks. The process and the effects of having an abortion are very risky and can even lead to negative results. The list of abortion risks can include traumatic and haunting emotional effects to health problems. More importantly, abortion risk can include something far scarier and more serious that health problems - it can even lead to death. The health problems that may arise as a result of abortion include breast cancer, uterine perforation, liver cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer. Another abortion risk is that having an abortion at present will lead to problems to future problems. These problems include giving birth to handicapped babies in future and other pregnancies, and problems in labor and giving birth during future pregnancies.

An abortion risk should always be kept in mind before deciding to have an abortion. Of all the risks that having an abortion can bring, the ultimate and scariest one is the possibility that in the processing of having an abortion, you may end up not only killing the baby, but you may end up killing yourself as well. Yes, death is one abortion risk that I am sure every one of us is afraid of.

We should all be afraid of death as an abortion risk. The cases of death of women after having an abortion are not rare. Numbers are being reported year after year. In fact, based on a study conducted in Finland, women who have had abortion have more chances of dying the following year as compared to women who give birth and proceed with their pregnancy in the normal way. According from the same study, one of the greatest abortion risks there is the fact that after having an abortion, women are more likely to die four times more as compared to women who choose not to have an abortion. Another fact to take note of is that it has been reported in the United States that the firth cause of death of women shortly (a few minutes) after giving birth is legal abortion. The side effects of abortion also lead to abortion risk. These include infection, hemorrhage, and embolism causes the risks of death after abortion.

Aside from death, another abortion risk is breast cancer. Many studies worldwide indicate that the risk of women having breast cancer later in their age doubles in number after having an abortion. And the number goes up after two or three abortions. So, if the risks of having breast cancer doubles after one abortion, the risks of having breast cancer can triple if you have two abortions!

Indeed, abortion risk is not a funny thing. Any topic concerning abortion risk is serious and should be handled carefully. Abortion is very difficult decision to make for everyone concerned. But, before any decision is made final, a careful and thorough look at all the possible risks abortion can bring should be done.
