Things to Do in Rancho Mirage

The River
Neighborhood: Rancho Mirage
Rancho Mirage, CA 92270
United States of America
Rancho Mirage is one of the most pristine locations in all of Southern California. Rancho Mirage is situated between Cathedral City and Palm Desert; there are many celebrities as well as famous USA politicians who have made Rancho Mirage their home away from home sort of speak.

A great deal of Rancho Mirage's population is made up of retired folks living out their golden years, most with a certain amount of capital; however, one does not need to be a multi-millionaire to live in Rancho...there are many people living in Rancho with modest to just above modest retirement incomes as well.

Rancho is more sedated than its sister cities: Palm Springs and Cathedral City. "The River" as it's called, has to be one of the nicest and safest places to hang out in Rancho Mirage. The River is always crowded with people from all walks of life: young and old alike. If you're amongst the younger crowd living in Rancho, The River is the place to be at during weekends. Fridays and Saturday nights are great, and young, middle age, and elderly couples/families alike flock to the River for entertainment, food, and lots of fun....

Rancho Mirage is famous for being very clean, and even though The River is almost always super-crowded/busy, management does a great job in keeping this large establishment safe and clean.

The River has a very nice movie theater, and again: young and old alike flock there to see the latest movies playing, it has to be one--if not the nicest theaters around.

There is also a very nice 'Borders' bookstore. In fact, many people hang out at Borders while they wait for their movie to begin.

A 'Cheesecake Factory' restaurant just outside the movie theater is a great place to eat after you've taken a show, this has to be one--if not the nicest Cheesecake Factory restaurants around....

There is also a 'Flemings' restaurant; Flemings is a very upscale and expensive steak restaurant,-- but if you can afford to eat there: the food is great!...

Live outdoor musical entertainment is also excellent. There are benches all over for people to gather around and sit, and there is usually a live band/musicians playing on Fridays and Saturday nights located outdoors between Flemings and Cheesecake Factory.

A PF Chang's restaurant is a great contrast the many American food restaurants there.

There is also a 'Babes' restaurant. If you love pork, but hate getting your fingers dirty, then this is the place for you. They serve all types of pork delicacies: boneless!...

For those of us with stealthier wallets, River has a Starbucks, Subway, and Baja Fresh, so no one is left out from having great food at more reasonable prices.

These are just a few of the places to visit at The River; The River is a must for anyone in the area who is just looking for a good time!....
