Every Saturday from April to December from 10:00am until 4:00pm, the Riverside Arts Market (otherwise known as RAM) is open to the public for free. It is similar to a farmer's market but offers so much more. RAM features live entertainment such as musicians, escape artists, and magicians whose talent amazes those who watch. Arranged into aisles, booths line up offering fresh, organic produce, local restaurant cuisine, and local artists sell paintings, photography, handmade jewelry, handbags, and more. At RAM, you can find some of the best produce that Florida can offer, as well as some very impressive handiwork of the neighborhood artists.
Rain or shine, RAM is open every weekend and isn't hindered by weather since the huge overpass of the Fuller Warren Bridge shields the property, acting as a large umbrella to keep away sun rays and raindrops. Feel free to bring your dogs along on leashes as you walk down beside the St. Johns River. The cool breeze will keep you comfortable, and the friendly vendors have more than enough to offer whether you're simply browsing or shopping, though it's hard to browse with so many great products to purchase!
RAM boasts an impressive beginning, having attracted over 100,000 people since it opened at the start of April 2009. Exceeding the locals' expectations, RAM is one of the most fun and affordable weekend outings for you and your family. Not only can you bring along your pets and kids, but it's also a great activity all by yourself. Whether you are bored at home on a lonely Saturday, or you want to find some unique art for your home, or you are craving some fresh organic strawberries, or you just want a fun environment to go for a walk, be sure to check out Jacksonville's Riverside Arts Market. Look on their website for more information on what is coming up this Saturday!
