The Road to Turin, Italy

Shroud of Turin Exhibit to Be Viewed by Over One Million Visitors

Dr. Peter J. Shield Ph.D. ARP
If you are one of the over one million tourists (including His Holiness the Pope) expected to visit the famed Shroud of Turin in Italy when it goes on public display for the first time since 2000; here is some information you may find helpful. If you have no plans for the next month or so, I sincerely encourage you to experience this once in a lifetime occasion.

I will give you the complete information on how to get there and the official web site at the end of this article, however, I would first like to update you on the latest information on this amazing piece of cloth!

My research indicates that we can trace what most shroud researchers believe is tangible evidence of the shroud's existence to the first century! During my recent visit to the sacred Monastery of St. Catharine in the heart of the Sinai Desert, I was able to view images painted as early as AD 550 depicting the Holy Shroud.

Since the carbon dating undertaken in the 1980's has since proved to be inaccurate the reported dating making this a 14th century cloth ( AD 1250 -1390) have been dismissed. (Los Alamos National Labs)

The image on the cloth which many believe to be that of the crucified one is amazingly in the negative, a fact that science has still been unable to explain!

It is of a 6ft naked man.

He wore shoulder length hair.

He had an enlarged chest from trying to breath.

He had been beaten by a Roman Flagrum (a unique whip used by the Romans to beat prisoners)

He had bled whilst on the Cross.

He suffered most of his wounds whilst alive.

The wound on his side showed no swelling indicating that the wound happened after death!

These are just some of the amazing facts that cannot be disputed.

According to Dr. Alan Adler (now deceased) the blood found on the shroud matches the biblical description of the injuries and death of Jesus of Nazareth. You can hear a recording of the interview I recorded with Dr. Adler here.

Finally, the official web site for the Holy Shroud Exhibit is http://www.sindone.org. The following is an extract from their site:

"Getting here:

The pilgrims points of arrival, where there will be the volunteers, are the city railway stations, the airport, the car parks «Caio Mario» and «Stura», the bus number 4 South and North terminuses, the temporary bus park arriving in corso San Maurizio centre roadway, the «Welcome» and «Departures» pavillon in the Royal Low Gardens, viale Primo Maggio and viale dei Partigiani. For more information about other parkings in the central area, please see www.5t.torino.it .

Turin Airport

Turin airport, managed by SAGAT, is an up-to-date structure that is able to provide users with a continuously improving range of services.

It is well-connected to the major European hubs, such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Moscow, Munich, Paris and Roma, and can be easily reached from any part of the world via an intermediate connection.

Easily accessible and congestion-free, the airport can handle an annual traffic of more than five million passengers, guaranteeing the highest standards of comfort and safety.

Turin airport lies 16 km from the city centre. It is situated at the centre of an important network of transport links, making it extremely easy to reach.

A public transport service, consisting of buses and trains, connects the airport to Turin's main railway stations and the city centre."

As a researcher and journalist I try to keep an open mind, especially when it comes to the "world's greatest unexplained mystery"; however there is little room to disregard the amazing evidence which continues to appear.

If you have not visited Italy - now would be the perfect time!
